Do you have one of these?

American user Ju Tha Jeweller has gone viral after she discovered a VERY useful ite to help boil WATER after she spent years boiling it on the stove!!

She wrote "So i finally converted to an electric kettle and this mf really boils water in 2 minutes. I had tea 3 times today"

She was quickly inundated with responses as another said they JUST found out about this "godsend" kitchen appliance last year and has now gone viral with over 170,000 views

She saw the kettle at Target after growing tired of warming the water on the stoeve and shared her experiences on how to use this simple kettle

In fact it's so simple to boil water in these things that it shuts off by itself and you don't have to rush to turn it off when using a stove

This has left people in stitches on this discovery as one user said "Americans have found kettles"

Another said "America just surprises me. This thing is all over third world countries that don't have electricity"

Explaining the lack of kettles in the US, one user said "People here just aren't hardcore hot tea drinkers. Way more likely to have an electric coffeemaker than an electric kettle. I didn't knwo it existed until 5 years ago. I asked for it for Xmas, my whole family was like, that's a thing, wanted one too lol"

But people said that boiling water isn't just for tea drinkers but also to boil water for water drinkers or even to use for quick ramen and making jello and flavoured drinks.

They are however NOT big sellers in the United States as many prefer to heat up their food using microwaves and with the traditional use of a stove.

Do you know what this is?

we had one as a kid, but I haven't seen or used one in a long time. I don't think I was aware of whether it was faster or not than the stove, but it makes sense, but then as far as I know, microwaving it is even faster anyway, which is how I do it. you can cook pasta or make jello or whatever pretty fast just using a microwave to boil the water. (it is a bit hard to get the container out though due to the temperature. a kettle would win in terms of safety for sure).

I'll admit it: this is my first time seeing one. I typically boil water using a metal kettle on an induction cooker.

I didn't know thats what they've looked like, but i'm aware that electric kettles were a thing. I don't have a use for one personally.

Half of my wife's family are tea drinking Irish immigrants so I've known about these for years. Wife and I have been together about 15 years, can't recall if I knew about them before I met her or not but her mother and grandparents and other members of her family have them

As a tea drinking West Indian I like taking it easy while my tea is on the stove. My big sister now swears by these electric kettles too, but I was like nah. That's too quick. Especially on mornings the first thing I do is put my tea on, then go wash my face and do some stretches. It's just about ready when I'm done.

It is indeed a quick way to access boiled water. I use it for tea sure but also many other things that just require hot water added. Noodles for example. I like to just flick the switch and then go about my daily routine. By the time done a electric kettle has boiled and the water stays hot. II will say though both methods are acceptable. I just prefer to not use a cooker just to boil water.

It's a great way to get water ready in the morning for my French press while I'm running around getting dressed

I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.
