You know what the gaming industry desperately needs right now? Another first person shooter.

I had probably over 40 or 50 N64 games. It's hard to narrow them down but I feel safe saying Perfect Dark was my second favorite game for the console. Visually it was stunning, there was a HUGE variety of character lines (I had played hundreds of hours and would still hear new lines, or old lines in new voices), the weapon variety is better than most FPS games these days PLUS each weapon had a thoughtful secondary function to it.
Not having a lot of friends I especially loved the multiplayer modes, you could customize your character (each character body and head had advantages and disadvantages... like you could choose a scrawny little alien and choose some tiny ass head and you didn't have to crouch to go under things and you were hard af to hit but your movement speed was slower; taller people could run fast as hell), you could set up AI teammates and give them orders on the fly and they would gun you down on accident because friendly fire and there was a whole series of challenges I never even completed because I sucked at it but it was fun. Picked up Perfect Dark Zero. cautiously optimistic. i never finished the n64 one but it had a great 90's Hackers type aesthetic, from what we saw in the trailer for the new one it just is not visually interesting at all and looks like your typical realistic AAA gam, nothing seemed stylized at all
