Had a sharp shooting pain on my right side Wednesday, like I got stabbed with a knife. Figured I just strained my back again, so took Thursday off. Had to sleep upright on the couch, moving around or pressure on my right side was so painful. Friday rolled around, if anything it was getting worse, plus now it hurt to take deep breaths.

Went to urgent care, the dude poked my belly a couple times in certain spots and was like "GO TO THE ER"

Waiting in a temporary room until I get a CT angio done, then I'll be formally admitted. As long as those images confirm my gallbladder's the culprit, it's slice and dice time.

Oh yeah, and no food or drink except water until the surgery. Fuck I'm so hungry

Only had general anesthesia once, when my wisdom teeth were removed. The ceiling started moving and I woke up so goddamn groggy I could barely walk lol

They probably sold it on the black market. What was the actual problem?

I had that done a few years ago after having gallstones from time to time and it was a great decision. Never even noticed any difference without it. I was only in the hospital a few hours for the surgery, too.

After eating I used to get lots of bloating and sharp pains on my right side, sometimes the pain shot up to my chest, neck and even the into head and gave me pounding headaches. I learned that the phrenic nerve that goes up that whole area, when it gets pinched by an inflamed gallbladder that's not producing enough bile, it causes that sharp pain. I started talking bile salts and digestive formulas to help with the pain and aid digestion. A month later, all the pain and bloating went away.

Cystic Fibrosis. I'm on the better end of it tho. Probably still got better lungs than a lot of people my age, especially smokers. Stomach problems like a mug, but I'm living with it fine. Blessed in other places in life.

Sucks that they don't let you keep your own organs in a jar after the surgery.

No point in trying to diagnose yourself, go to a doctor. Before I got checked out, I thought I had just bruised a rib and was happy to try and walk it off. Imagine the relief you'll feel when your doc gives you an accurate answer, even if it isn't one you wanted

I'm wearing my lucky boxers, I'm good. Me either honestly, never had someone tell me they need to slice me open

this is what happened to me. The first thing I remember is being helped out to the car but my mom said when I woke up I was half consciously telling the dental assistants to shut the fuck up and let me sleep

I'm more concerned about the recovery than the surgery itself, honestly.

Had mine out in October of last year. It took 3 months after the problems began to properly diagnose me, and another 2 before they knew for sure it had to be removed. I managed to get the surgery early.
