ehhhh idk if it applies in this format, cuz he's not opting out for a guaranteed prize like in Let's Make a Deal. He's just opening random cases. At the end of the video, he had just as much chance of this case being 1 mil than not being 1 mil. He could've opened the 1 mil case early and then just had 2 sucky prizes at the end instead >_>

At that point it's a 1 in 2 chance so the expected value is higher to decline the the offer. Almost every offer given is less than the expected value of what's left on the table.

No. I'm too lazy to statistics talk but at all times your chances are 1/26 of having the million dollars until such a time as it gets removed from the board. And Monty hall problem, he'd actually have had a 2/26 chance if he had swapped.

2) Yes it is, but it's established well before this point that the guy is a math wiz.

Yeah I guess there aren't explicit wins or losses in this game and more importantly the other cases are being taken away randomly so it's different from Monty Hall and not 25/26.

However, there are a lot more amounts under $416k than there are amounts over $416k so the odds are definitely not in his favor.

Oh I understand the odds and the statistics, I was more meaning it's just randomly picking numbers is the entirely luck basis of it. Once dollar amounts start getting eliminated there is a strategy to your approach and greed and risk factor in.

Imagine thinking any of this is real and not understanding that the producers give this guy a guaranteed payout to make the decision that is the most entertaining.
