Now every fucking station is pulling out to make their own service and it's horseshit. Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, AMC+, Discovery+, ESPN+, CBS All Access, Apple TV+, Sling, HBO Max, Amazon Prime.

Remember when it was just Netflix? Then it turned into Netflix and Hulu. Now we gotta pay like ~$10+ for like 5 services instead of just 1 or 2 max to get all the shows we want lol. People are just gonna go back to pirating again >_>

Plan a posse of subscription mooching with your friends so one has Netflix, one has Hulu, etc.

Or just subscribe for a month, binge what you want, then unsub and do another one.

Or, you know, just go back to the old ways >_>

Yeah it's really fucking annoying. Cord cutting was about savings costs and watching the shows you like, not about spreading your money to as many companies as posible

At least they have no contract services though.

So if you really want to be hardcore about it you can just get a month here and there of whichver service has the thing you want to watch

It's still a ton better than cable. I can start up or cancel my subscription at anytime with a couple of clicks.

Trying to cancel cable is like pulling teeth.

on one hand, yeah, its annoying that there's a bajillion streaming services instead of just a single one.

on the other, from a business POV, i dont blame them for trying to capitalize off their own IPs like that...

since there are so many services i no longer feel hype for tv shows. used to be that there would be a show like breaking bad or game of thrones or whatever that everyone was watching, so i wanted to watch too and join in on it. now i hear about some new show coming out and i just dont care 99% of the time because its on some service i dont get

Cable:
-you need to be within range of service
-might have to get it bundled with services you don't want for a cheaper price
-have to renew service every year or else deal with increased expenses
-surprise fees for whatever reason
-worse quality than streaming on a PC unless you're willing to more than $200 a month for hundreds of channels you don't want

Even if you pay for all streaming services it's still cheaper than Cable. Streaming services also come bundled. You can get Disney and Hulu bundled together.

I actually use my parent's Sling account, and the programming of cable is abysmal.

It really goes to show you that corporations can and will fuck you over for profits. We will never live in a society where the corporations pander to the consumer at reasonable rates
