I remember being excited that Jeffery Combs was in the show, but then he just winds up being Dollmaker's manager or something.

Literally every single woman in the show is completely insane and horrible.
Literally every single gay or bi person is a depraved lunatic murderer perverted weirdo. Because you have to be fucked in the head for a man to like cock or girl to like tushy.

And all the "Good Guys" are super masculine dudes with short haircuts who solve all their problems by punching it and standing heroically.

It's kinda weird.

I'm thinking the characters in the show aren't the only ones with daddy issues.

I think it's more that the vast majority of the characters in Gotham are insane and horrible, so there's naturally going to be some overlap.
