"Just between you and me... Before Jinx joined your team, and while she was staying over in Titans Tower in California, she, Raven and myself... Had a bit of... How to put it? It was just the one time and we didn't even go all the way."

"Hmm, yes, I understand the American slang," Red Star says. "I believe there is also a way of relating it to baseball."

"Yes, exactly," you say. "We went roughly to second or third base, and stopped there."

"Hmm, I see," Red Star says. "While you were engaged?"

"No, no," you say. "This was months ago, and the engagement is more recent."

"So then, letting the girls swim alone is more so there are no lingering feelings," he says.

"Yes," you say. "I'm removing myself from the situation so that Raven won't be watching me to make sure I'm not watching the others around us."

The door to Raven's room opens and Raven walks out with everyone in swimsuits.

"Must be very difficult," Red Star says.

You clear your throat while trying to keep your eyes at everyone's eye level.

"We'll see you ladies later," you say. "We lads will..."

"Get a quick snack. Just something to tide us over until dinner."

"I wouldn't mind having something," Red Star says.

"Then we'll go check out some of the places around here and let you ladies enjoy yourselves," you say.

"Alright," Raven says. "But come to get me when the others show up, okay?"

"Right," you say.

You give Raven a quick peck on the cheek before she leads the ladies to the pool and before you lead Red Star to Mt. Hood Brewing Co. Govy since you will technically be using Portland for dinner.

[cut to Raven]

Raven and her group find there are others in the pool, and it looks to be a family with all boys of various ages. And those boys definitely take notice of the group of all females walking in. Raven shrugs off their stares and...

The others follow Raven, with Rorek's sisters still gravitating towards Raven's mother. Though at the same time, they also want to be near Argent and Jinx. However, Jinx and Argent move over to sit on either side of Raven.

"So, it's Rorek's birthday, huh?" Jinx asks with a big smirk.

"Yep," Raven says.

"You get him anything?" Argent asks.

"No," Raven says. "But I don't think he minds."

"Wow, really?" Jinx asks. "Wish Kid Flash was like that on his birthday. He expected me to have something for him when we met for dinner."

"It's not even about expectations," Argent says. "You should want to get them something because you like them."

"Well, yeah," Raven says. "But see, part of today's celebration is more than his birthday. We're engaged."

Jinx and Argent both look at Raven for a second before their eyes widen.

"Really?" they both say.

"Yes, really," Raven says. "Why would I lie about that?"

"Wait, when are you getting married?" Jinx asks.

"In February," Raven says. "It'll be in time for my birthday."

"Aw, that's really sweet," Argent says. "And February has Valentine's Day, too, so it's gonna be completely packed with romance for you two."

Raven smiles as she thinks about that.

"You'll be getting so many presents from Rory!" Roselind says.

"Boy, that's going to be rough on him," Jinx says. "Trying to come up with three different gifts for those occasions?"

"It's not like I'm going to be demanding gifts," Raven says.

"But that wouldn't be very good of him if he didn't get you a gift for your birthday, your anniversary and Valentine's Day," Rebecca says.

"Actually, you'd also need to get gifts for him on two of those, wouldn't you?" Roselind says.

"Oh, that's true," Raven says.

"Well those should be easy enough, right?" Jinx smirks.

Argent and Jinx snicker but Raven rolls her eyes.

"Let's not get... suggestive, okay?" Raven says. "My engagement aside, you are talking about their brother, y'know."

Raven motions to Roselind and Rebecca.

"Okay, okay," Jinx says. "Killjoy."

Raven's not sure how much time has passed but she remembers there being a time limit on staying in the hot tub. The sun is going down, and the Titans are surely going to be here any moment, too...

"Alright, time's up for the hot tub," Raven says as she gets up.

"What?" Jinx says. "There's a time limit on how long we can be in here?"

"Yeah," Raven says. "The sign says it right there."

Jinx pouts but she and the others follow Raven to the pool. Raven makes sure to stay on the far side from the family with all boys, as do the others. Arella sits with Raven, the sisters stick close to both of them, and Argent takes a quick swim from side to side while Jinx floats nearby.

Jinx looks at Raven, Arella, and then Argent as she backstrokes into view. Jinx grumbles as all cup sizes are considerably higher. But then she looks to Rorek's sisters and is relieved that they're still petite.

Jinx coasts back over towards the group when she notices the boys are still glancing over. Mostly the middle child who seems old enough to know what he likes and too young to know self-control.

"You think we should do something about that?" Jinx asks as she floats over to Raven.

Raven notices the boy looking.

"Maybe," Raven says. "What did you have in mind?"

"I dunno," Jinx says as she floats closer. "You got any ideas?"

"Well," Raven says, thinking. "I mean, it's a little late to do something like Illusion Magic."

"Obviously," Jinx says. "But there's gotta be something else you can do, right?"

"Why do I have to do something about it?" Raven asks.

"Well what would I be able to do about it?" Jinx counters. "My main power is bad luck."

"We can use that," Raven says.

"Are you sure?" Argent says. "I mean, bad luck in a pool would be like, drowning, wouldn't it?"

Jinx scowls at Argent.

"What?" Argent says. "It would count, wouldn't it?"

"It could also be something like his swim trunks slip away," Jinx says. "That'd actually be pretty funny."

"How about simply asking him to stop staring?" Arella asks. "I'm sure pointing it out to his mother would be embarrassing enough."

"That's true," Raven says.

Raven looks over and spots the mother, and tries to think what to say, but finds the words stuck in her throat.

"Could you speak to them?" she asks Arella. "You are a parent."

"Alright, alright," Arella says.

Arella clears her throat and wades her way a bit closer to the other family.

"Um, excuse me," she says to the other mother. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but notice one of your sons glancing over, maybe staring a little at my daughter and her friends. It's making them a little uncomfortable."

"Oh, I'm sorry," the mother says with a genuine apologetic tone. "He's... Well, he's a growing boy."

The mother has a nervous laugh, but then she frowns at the middle son.

"Marchall, what have I told you?" the mother scolds.

"Marchall?" the twins mutter with confused looks.

Marchall turns red and shrinks into his shoulders as he skulks away to the shallow end, completely facing away from the girls.

"Sorry about that, Marchall," Jinx mutters with a smirk.

"So is there anything special planned for the birthday party?" Argent asks.

"Nope," Raven says. "Just the pizza for dinner and all of us being together."

"So it's a glorified pizza party?" Jinx says. "Is he turning 10 or something?"

"What?" Raven frowns. "We all like pizza, and the place we're getting it from is the one place that'll let meals be to go so we can cater this."

"Well, there should be something," Jinx says. "A party game, at least."

"I guess we could do something like that," Raven says. "I did enjoy those party games we played while we were at the Nulls' family home."

"Yes, those were fun," Roselind smiles.

"We could do pictionary again," Rebecca says.

"But we might need things to actually draw with this time," Raven says. "Not everyone can use magic aura."

"Drawing with aura?" Argent says. "That sounds pretty cool."

"We could also do charades," Roselind says. "That way it's like pictionary but with acting things out."

"That might be the best," Raven says. "No worries about the paper and pens, just if you can sorta mime something."

"That'll be fun," Argent says. "What would the teams be?"

"Well, there's..." Raven says as she does the math. "Sixteen people, once the Titans arrive. Eight and eight... Can't do boys versus girls, there's not as many boys."

"Maybe Rorek and I can be team leaders, and we'll choose who we want on our teams."

"That sounds fair," Jinx says. "Are you going to get both twins? Y'know, for that twin synchronicity?"

"That would be a good advantage," Raven says. "I'm sure Rorek will try that, too, especially since they're his sisters."

"But the best way to do that is to be first to choose," Argent says. "How are you going to decide who is first?"

"Or rather, how will you convince him to let you choose first, even though it's his birthday?" Jinx says.

"I'll let his sense of chivalry take care of it," Raven says. "He'll let me go first because ladies first."

"I guess," Jinx shrugs. "Who're you choosing first?"

"Well, as soon as I choose a sister, he might just choose the other to keep me from having an advantage," Raven says. "But if he chooses a sister, I'll have to choose the other to keep him from having an advantage. Guess I'll have no choice but to choose one of the twins first."

[return to Rorek]

Your communicator goes off and you answer.

"Evening, Robin," you say. "Are you almost here?"

"Almost," he says. "Is there a space big enough for us to land on?"

"Red Star and I will go see," you say. "The Titans North copter is also in a grassy space, there might be room there."

"Alright, see you soon," Robin says.

You and Red Star finish your onion rings and head outside of the inn.

"Well, the T-Copter is by the parking lot," you say. "I think there is good room..."

"Behind the pool area," you say.

You and Red Star walk around the outside of the building and see that past the trees shielding the pool is a nice clearing.

"Yes, this should work," Red Star says. "I'll watch the skies, and be a signal when the T-Ship arrives."

"Alright," you say. "I'll let the ladies know the others are on their way."

You go back inside, and quickly make the long walk back to the pool.

"Raven," you call from the door. "The Titans are almost here."

"Okay," Raven says. "I'll be right there."

"Alright," you say.

You go back inside and head back around the outside to the pool. You watch the sky to the south while waiting with Red Star, and you see lights coming. Red Star flies up just enough to be over the tree and emits a red light from his hands as he waves. The T-Ship flies over the pool and the landing jets whip up the wind so it blows your hair around.

"Whoa, a pool!" Beast Boy says before the T-Ship even lands.

He jumps out as a green hawk, and Starfire even follows him, and from the sound of it, they both dive into the pool. The T-Ship finishes landing, and then Robin and Cyborg hop out.

"Well, they were impatient," you say, pointing a thumb over your shoulder to the pool.

"Yeah," Cyborg chuckles. "So, birthday boy, is that where the party is?"

"Well, not exactly," you say. "We have a nice hall rented out for the night and we'll be heading over there in a little bit. I don't know if Raven exited the pool area before Starfire and Beast Boy dove in, but she was going to go get dressed to meet all of you."

You listen closely and hear a seal, which must be Beast Boy's current form for swimming in the pool. You do hear your sisters, and you're pretty sure you hear Jinx and Argent. There are other voices you don't know so those must be other guests that are using the pool at the same time.

"I'll call Raven," you say as you get out your communicator.

You wait as the communicator dials, and Raven picks up on her end.

"Are they here?" Raven asks.

"Yes," you say. "Beast Boy and Starfire already dove into the pool, though."

"What?" Raven says. "I already dried off."

"Well, you can come back if you haven't gotten dressed."

"I guess... Are you going to join in?"

A) Sure
