"Hey so when are you guys going to fix the drift issue on your $80 controllers?"

"[Long preamble] ...So anyway, next question"

I had no expectations and still feel let down.

Spoilers reggie interviews were the exact same thing

NoA never really gets a say in anything. All these questions should have been pointed at Nintendo proper

The way I would answer that, Russ, is:

He really has those politician answers down.

I actually feel like reggie had a good way of dealing with interviews. Usually there was a little something more concrete in Reggie's answers and I felt like he would tease exciting news a little more.

This was basically a page of "I'm not going to answer that"

Reggie was a lot of fun with his public image, he had charisma and could dance around questions well but at the end of the day they're all the same with the mindless empty business-speak.

That said, the specific refusal of anyone in this company to even acknowledge the existence of Joycon drift is maddening.

After sleeping on it I put my finger on what's different. Reggie would always talk about nintendo games like he knew what they were. You could kinda get a feel that Reggie enjoyed having fun with nintendo games, whether or not thats true. Bowser's answers were the same answers he would have given if he was in charge of a shoe company or a paint store. His answers were always "seems the public is responding to this positively so we'll have to see how the company responds" Even in the Age of Calamity question, Russ sets him up for an easy avenue to talk about their new game, and Doug just says "Yeah who knows"

"I wanted to specifically talk about a strategy that Nintendo is doing with Switch Online, regarding the sunsetting I dont know what the exact terminology is, but effectively, games that are no longer available after March 31, 2021. What is the logic? Why is that good for consumers?

Yeah, I think I use a simple word: celebration.

Yeah, and the celebration aspect I totally get. Obviously, you have gone whole hog on releasing amazing Mario games this year. I just dont understand the consumer side of it, where someone who buys a Switch in June of next year is just never gonna be able to buy those games. I just dont see the upside, quite honestly.

Yeah, at this point, the decision was really made around that celebration feature and aspect. I cant speak to plans beyond the the end of March."
