My wife is wanting some fitness options and she's considering doing pole dancing at home. We are concerned though it may weird out the kids as they get older to see their mom pole dance, a thing typically associated with strippers

Can't you get one of those long curtains. It's like a less strippery version of pole dancing.

Eh, I'd say pole fitness has already done a pretty good job of cementing itself in modern culture as being more than just a thing for strippers. By the time your kids are old enough to care, I doubt the association will be strong enough for them to care.

That said, you're basically obligated to weird your kids out whenever possible, so if anything, I'd say a stripper pole is a valuable asset for that, not something to worry about.

Yes, I'd find it weird. But that's just like my personal biased opinion, man. If your wife wants it and she's comfortable with it then more power to her.

My mom would've dropped her opera glasses in horror at the idea of using a stripper pole, let alone allowing one in the house. Sometimes her being uptight kinda sucked, but in this instance, it was a good thing. I would hate to have had a mom with a stripper pole. For starters, your friends would never be allowed over because they'd see it and tell everyone else and you'd be the butt of all jokes for the foreseeable future.

At her age and agility level, it would likely be her husband using it. I'm not sure if it makes the mental image better or worse.
