You're walking along one day when suddenly you hear "Hey [affectionate nickname!] long time no see."

Then you turn around and see it's your old school friend you haven't seen in years. You also vividly remember lending him $25 and him never returning it

You get a beer and shoot the shit but after a while it quickly becomes apparent during his 3rd anecdote about kids that he's not going to pay you the money back, he might not even remember it.

I usually cap things like individual favors to 1. As in, I just wont do any other favor for them ever again until they pay me back. And to remind them everytime why if asked.

Give him a gift card to a restaurant. Write that it has $25 loaded but in actuality only put $1 on it.

Im not getting my money back, but at the very least Ill have a laugh at his expense :3

As long as he never asks me to lend him more money, I'm not bringing it up. If he does though, I'm laying the guilt trip on him.
