I've been really incredibly tired lately. For those of you who remember me I was working in Alabama little over a month ago. And things seemed to be going alright. Until I wrecked my car. After that, I kinda stopped posting. Since then, things haven't been the same. I've just been so tired all of the time. I'm only doing 40 hour work weeks so that's nice, but I'm even more tired than before. I don't even have the energy to play my video games anymore. I tried picking up Titanfall 2 today after work, a game I'm pretty good at, but I just got pooped on so that didn't help. I just don't have the energy to do anything but lay down anymore. Besides going to work obviously, I give everything I've got at work, and it actually paid off, as I got a raise from $11.53 to $13.25. And my boss said if my performance improves in 90 days, I can get another raise. So I've been giving it 110% even though it's crazy busy, and the weather is miserable. I work at Lowe's, in the lumber department. My day is spent moving wood, hauling concrete, and loading drywall. I'm really trying for that 2nd raise. For the record, I still don't have a home of my own, and I still don't have a car anymore. But I just feel like I'm on a treadmill. Running as fast as I can, and never actually covering any distance, just burning energy. Anyways, I enjoy my work, and my coworkers are all swell people. I'm even told I do really good work. Gosh, this post is a mess, but I'm just trying to vent. So please stick with me. Anyways, Lowe's actually has free counseling for employees and thier families. I've though about trying it, but I'm just so tired, and I don't even know if it'd help. How good can it be if it's free right? It's apparently sponsored by BetterHelp if anyone knows anything about them. I just don't want to be tired anymore. And I want a place to call my own, and a car, and a family. God how I miss when my family was together. But now, we're all scattered. My sister's don't talk to each other or my dad, but they all talk to me. It doesn't feel like a family, but just people I know. I'm so tired.

At least you enjoy your job, a lot of people don't. I can relate to the family thing, lost my brother and dad and I don't speak to my mother anymore. Life is tough man, just stick with it and try to remain positive.

Yeah, might be a good idea to give that a go lol its free like you said - why not right?

Seems like yer working an assload though.. Id encourage you to try and think of jobs as investments that get you places if youre feeling like yer in a rut. You can get to some neat places by shifting weight around

I remember thinking early on how cool itd be to bartend so I applied to any place that basically would give me a job in the food industry.. started as a barback and worked my way up. Im not saying thats what you have to do because eventually I wound up as an electrician heh

Was making pretty good dough and met some great people and customers though, dont regret any of that.. literally went in everywhere telling everyone Ill work for you, but ideally Id like really like to be in an environment that helps employees grow or that emphasizes internal growth or some kid of variation of that

Most people get behind that, especially if its someone like you busting your ass >_>

I feel you on the family things weirdly enough, yeah - if yer the glue, then slowly but surely piece it together so it fits good

you're doing great though mayne, just take baby steps and spend sometime thinking up multiple plans

This sounds like a cry for help, I would definitely take advantage of that program you mentioned. Just when confronted with a choice, try to do the right thing and keep your work ethic. If you keep setting yourself up by making good decisions, it's much harder to stumble later on.

It is kind of a cry for help. But it feels like everyone I try to talk to about it just tells me to get more sleep. And if you knew me, you'd know my sleep schedule is very important. I make sure to get 8 hours a night no matter what. But I guess I just want to talk to some people about it, without actually burdening anybody in my real life. Everyone's way too busy for me. I just want someone out there to know what my thought process is. Sorry if it seems desperate, but I guess I kind of am. It's not really my proudest moments if I'm keeping it real. But hey, if posting about it here keeps me from filling up the bathtub, and letting the water start draining to then blast my brain out into the draining water so the people who find me don't have to worry about clean up, then I guess it's better to post on here right?

So today at work, when things slowed down, I submitted an application for that free counseling. Apparently because of Covid they've received a lot of traffic, so it might take some time for an approval or rejection.

Just thought I'd share an update.

Some companies have an EAP program, Employee Assistance program.

See if a local psychologist or Christian Counselor does sliding scale on fees.

No, it's through my work. But apparently there just aren't any slots available for me, because they've had such a surge in applications because of Covid. I guess I'm just not important enough.
