I say no it isn't because some people are skeptical about a vaccine they know very little about.

Employers can require that you have a tetanus and MMR vaccine, this is no different. If you're skeptical about the vaccine because you don't know about it that's not the employer's problem it's yours.

Not unless it was already in their employment terms when they took the job, I guess. If it wasn't, then the employer should make reasonable accommodations if they don't want the employee there in person without the vaccine.

Why on Earth would I make it up and why would I go to the lengths necessary to prove to you I'm not lying about something totally mundane when you're a completely nonsensical human being who would continue to argue that knives don't exist as he's being stabbed to death just because you can't go five minutes without arguing against something for no discernible reason.

It'd be so much easier for you to just admit that you're full of crap instead of everybody's time with an excuse that lame. You tried to make a point by making shit up and you got called on it. Just own it and move on.

Or how about you could spend five seconds googling "can employers require vaccines" like I just did and find this from the website of a random research university that I don't even work at with positions similar to the people I work with listed, and I quote:

"Those entering the Medical Assistant/Laboratory Assistant, AAS Medical Laboratory Technician, AAS
Medical Coding & Billing, and AAS Health Administration programs requiring externships as part of the
program curriculum may require documented proof of certain vaccinations"

Now shut the fuck up Zeus and stop being a complete tool 24/7/365

Also posting scans/pictures of terms of employment can be a cause of termination or even lawsuits at some employers. Sure maybe one part might not be sensitive information, but one part can. And the terms of employment its basically has to be all or none for just reasonnto far.

I was mostly refusing to find and copy and post my own employment contract because Zeus isn't worth the time it would take for me to dig for it to prove something I have no earthly reason to lie about only for him to then move the goalpost arbitrarily.

But also yes because I am technically not even allowed to talk about what I do on a day to day basis other than acknowledging that I work in a research lab, yes, it probably would be seriously frowned upon if I pasted my employment contract onto some message board.

Ive had this exact argument more times than I can count. If people dont want to believe you, they wont. Even if you showed your contract, it wouldnt be Oh okay I was wrong. It would be a giant rant about how stupid that is and thats not how it should be.

It's fair for any employer to require anything within reason. The safety of all the employees is very important. I would rather fire somebody for refusing to get a vaccine than even let them work from home because their poor judgment and selfishness are reflective of them being a lesser person and I'd want to only keep those I deemed acceptable.

See, here's the thing. Most jobs don't require vaccinations for various reasons. So to suddenly change that you'll have a bunch of people rejecting the vaccine and, when they get fired, suing for wrongful termination based on discrimination. They'd have an argument to unless they're in one of the very few jobs were vaccinations in general are required and not JUST the one for covid.

I do feel it's wrong especially since it will be a while before everyone can have the chance to get vaccinated. So even in the best of cases it is pointless. You also have people who will refuse vaccinations in general and expect to keep their jobs, jobs that they had prior to 2020 without being vaccinated.

It's a tricky question to be certain. I will say this. I believe everyone should be vaccinated or at least have the chance to be vaccinated. Does that mean I want it required or turned into law? No.

If it isnt formally mandated at least a good 30% of the country is gonna refuse to get it, the virus is gonna keep spreading and mutating, and businesses are gonna struggle with lockdowns with no end in sight.

As a once nurse I can back this up. Also you can be fire for having an reaction to the tb test. If your in a field where you can communicate a compromising disease they can require various medical stipulations.

Heck there is a town that requires you appendix to be removed to live in it.
