Atralis 12/20/20 8:56:53 PM #5:	We honestly need to make more of an effort as a society to get NEETs into productive fields. I was a NEET from the age of 17 to 20 and then I joined the Army. I was able to do that because I was basically an under the radar NEET not collecting any disability $ or anything but I was basically living like a full on NEET. I played WoW or other games every day for 12+ hours and I never left the house unless my parents took me somewhere. When I joined the Army I was able to just take a standardized test, pick a job, and dive head first into another life. My Dad was a retired Navy officer so he kicked my ass into shape for a few months and made me run and do pushups before I went to basic and I succeeded in the Army because I was basically just able to keep moving in whatever direction I was pointed at and I had the IQ to accomplish the job I signed up for (35N). It boosted my confidence in myself by an unbelievable amount. I get that not everyone is cut out for the military but I honestly wish that there was some sort of full immersion form of training other than the military that the NEETs out there could leap into to find a purpose.
