All of the social programs he funded using Venezuelan oil money were great. Nationalizing and then closing down a bunch of businesses and manufacturing operations because he felt that the oil money would last forever was a bad idea. Especially once OPEC drove oil prices through the roof which made it economically viable to frack in the US, which then led to an oil crash.
