2-36s and a 12. So many people are sick from covid and the patient call volume is so insane right now that my supervisors don't give a fuck lol. Some guys are working 60hr shifts cuz they literally don't have manpower. It's nuts! It's a miracle that I haven't been infected yet >_>

This year has been rich in overtime at least >_> I unironically might hit $100k this year cuz how much time people had to take off. But otherwise work is insanely stressful. Definitely gonna crank out some deeds at home and then do some DMC5 combos with Vergil between those shifts so I can clear my mind >_>

I sleep as long as no one calls 911 and requests us >_> Usually after midnight, calls slow down a lot but during the day and evening, I'm usually running nonstop

What are your usual prevention methods? Clearly your method works if you're in constant contact with Corona-chan patients while not getting infected.

I have a PM 2.5 mask and a fitted filter. That's it. My mask is fairly thin, light passes through it if it weren't for the filter. Should I grab myself a box of N95 masks?

I use an N-95 which I swap out every other day, and I use safety glasses. I wipe down the glasses every patient as well as as much equipment as possible >_> For confirmed covid positive patients, we have special gas masks that have covid respirators. Plus I put a surgical mask on every patient no matter what >_> Honestly it's probably just luck I havent caught it yet. Shit can still happen

Its odd you haven't been infected yet, but I have a sister and 2 close friends that work in healthcare. They've all 3 done stints in covid units, yet none have been infected.

Not trying to sound conspiratorial here, but any thoughts to why that might be? In the case of my sister I know she was really sick late winter/early spring, before testing was readily available. You think you had it before?

idk lol
We have easy access to better protection than civilians do I guess, like N-95s and gloves. And practice decontamination for everything >_> I guess civilians don't have that mindset?

The amount of overtime work I've got has helped my bank balance immensely. Not worth the no sleep and working with patients beyond the point of exhaustion though. Or the whole pandemic thing in general.

And yeah, the general protection we all wear keeps most of us safe. Certainly are some who are catching it, making it even harder work in the hospitals or those who get potentially exposed and have to quarantine etc.

Or... you know... we use masks and gloves for a reason?

Wow insightful, I never thought about that! /s

I was in no way making a claim about the efficacy of masks/gloves, I was theorizing about immunity amongst healthcare workers. Take off those political goggles for a sec it'll do you some good.

Edit: sorry. that was harsh. so beyond sick of dealing with how politicized Covid/masks/etc. has become, but that's not your fault lol

Yea, perhaps, but you're also in way closer proximity than a majority of civilians. Have you had an antibody test? As you said plenty of people are sick right now (did you mean co-workers?), which of course they could have been exposed outside of work. As plenty of healthcare workers have tested positive, just my best guess that some of you that have "avoided" it might have already had it at some point.

ehhhh usually you get like 1-2 hr cat naps between patients. But you also get a lot of dumb shit like toothaches or headaches at 3am >_> Like come on bro. Don't be a bitch lol

But a lot of drunk accidents happen that time of night too. We had a 2-person fatality the other night. That was really messy and bad >_>

Yeah a lot of coworkers are sick right now. That's why OT is so plentiful. But I'm also rolling the dice on catching it >_>

Dude it's hell over here too
People either just plain sick, or so many accidents it's insane, I've been doing nonstop 15 hours all week, 7 days a week for the past month, it's insane

Tired all the time, tired of trying to keep myself not infected, it's ridiculous

Sleep? what's that?

This workload is why I'm still a basic, and not an intermediate
