This is just quoted from another post on another board...

zzeennoolloo posted...
Ladies and gentlemen, we are fucked.
2020 is the year that keeps on giving us the middle finger.
"Senators introduce bipartisan bill further restricting pornographic content on the internet."

"Sens. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., and Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., introduced legislation that would impose a long list of new hurdles to clear for anyone seeking to upload pornographic content to the internet.

Released on Friday, the legislation was just the latest of Congressional actions in response to concerns about sex trafficking victims being exploited through sites like "P.H" after The New York Times published an expose on the issue, P.H implemented new reforms that included blocking any unverified content from their platform."

"Sasse's and Merkley's bill, titled the Stop Internet Sexual Exploitation Act, would impose this restriction on all platforms and require consent forms to be uploaded for every individual appearing in the video. It would also mandate that sites hosting pornographic content prohibit video downloads, set up a 24-hour hotline for people to video removals, and require the removal of the videos within two hours of victims flagging them."

More info: https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/senators-introduce-bipartisan-bill-further-restricting-pornographic-content-on-the-internet

Okay...
What's REALLY happening...
The illegal videos on P.H made up only about 0.01% of the entire website (and would be eventually removed when mods eventually discovered them). The vast majority of the website, well over 99%, was perfectly legal.
Unfortunately...
Crooked politicians on EVERY side (from the far-left SJWs to the far-right Rhinos and others in between) combined with dirty media outlets (like the New York Times, which is no longer the credible news source it was prior to what happened to it during June 2020 when a far-left mob of employees became the dominant force. Also, some outlets on the right that are heavily conservative as well want porn banned. Basically, a lot of people in power with various beliefs want porn banned) want porn destroyed (or at the very least want porn near dead).

Aside from P.H getting near destroyed (see pic below... 80% of it's content is now officially gone) it's been recently reported that one of the other major sites, let's just call that other site the one with the cute rodent, is also beginning to have problems as we speak.
This is not going to end well.
This was just the beginning:

Wow...
This is a fucked up year....

On a side note...
There is now allegedly a NEW mutated version of the coronavirus strain in the UK right now.
The UK is in another major lockdown because of the NEW mutant version of COVID.
I don't know if it will reach the U.S or not, but the lack of porn combined with a NEW heavy lockdown could result in mass chaos on various people's mental states.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFJqrRTFTdU

I wonder if they know about the study done that found out that porn actually lowered sex crimes when it was easily available. Or if they dont care...

Yeah, I think we had a topic about this already.

PH was under heavy scrutiny, so they wiped out most of their videos. They went from 32M videos down to 2.9M videos. Only verified accounts can upload videos now and they're changing the verification process (because it was a rather simple "hold a sign with your name, the date, and the site name" before). Any new accounts trying to become verified have much stricter guidelines to follow.

Well, we had a topic about PH. But this is a different topic about congress now trying to restrict porn even more. Other porn sites have been purging and removing download buttons to get ready for it. This is affecting all sites now. Not just PH.

You realize this would prop up studios more than anything right? When you put that many barriers on entry for an individual trying to make content, it makes it it difficult for a single person to manage. Thus porn studios. I wouldn't be at all surprised if OnlyFans were taken down as a result of this legislation. I guarantee you there's illegal content on there.

Whether OF gets taken down or not (which I doubt since the verification process is stricter than PH was) the days of studios are practically over. Unless said studios are owned by the pornstars themselves. I've seen a couple of those popping up recently. But big mainstream studios are pretty much done because people want to be in charge of making their own content and money. Especially men who usually get paid shite by porn companies compared to women.

Edit: Forgot to mention that this "prohibit video downloads" thing is a joke. These people do know there's dozens if not hundreds of downloader apps that let you rip videos from sites right. I used to download videos straight from PH without ever using the actual download feature. Besides that there's many sites that host the original files (not playing the video) for direct download. Its those I mainly use instead of watching something on a site.

Then they came for our Pornhub and I kinda liked that one, but they mostly succeeded because of spoke out on an internet video game message board, which really does not count for much.

Then they came for me and no one spoke out. I mean it is mostly because people don't know me, but you get the picture.

I mean, maybe. Right now, they have an outlet. If porn becomes hard to access, then he loses the outlet. The studies only showed how making porn easily accessible lower sex crime rates. But there wasnt a study to see if it rose after taking it away. So, while I cant say itll go up for sure, it seems likely...

A very small percentage. But the people doing this dont actually care about that. They are trying to get rid of porn fully because they dont like it when people like something they dont like...

Another post made by the other TC...

zzeennoolloo posted...
Well, there is another MAJOR problem I just found.
I was looking at Senator Merkley's (a democrat in Oregon) written proposal of the bill and there is something in it that is most likely going to be misused:

"BLOCKING RE-UPLOADS.On and after the date that is 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, a covered platform shall block any pornographic image that has been removed from the platform in accordance with this section from being re-uploaded to the platform."

https://www.merkley.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Stop%20Internet%20Sexual%20Exploitation%20Act%20Text1.pdf

The problem with this is that currently on P.H's site, there have been a HUGE amount (close to 10 million) of LEGAL videos that have been removed because they were lacking verification. So not only would they be deleted, but they wouldn't be allowed to be re-uploaded on ALL of the mainstream sites. The only chance you would have to see that video again is to either make a copy of it (the download feature would be removed from the mainstream sites, but there are "creative" old fashioned ways to make a copy of something) or hope it shows up on a very small website that flies under the radar (whose host is located outside the United States in some country 100% outside U.S jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of any of their allies in other countries. Granted, it wouldn't surprise me if the politicians go to the extreme and make search engines like Google and Bing de-list those smaller sites from search results).

The fact that they are trying to do this during a pandemic (which strongly looks to be entering a phase 2 with a mutated version of the virus, which will no doubt cause a major worldwide lockdown for 2021 if it spreads outside the UK and South Africa) is insane. Do they want people to go insane?

I would think it would do the exact opposite.

Hornyness and sex in general, makes you want it even more.

If less people saw porn, then I imagine that there would be LESS sexual assault, because people in general would be less horny, and people will want to do it less as well.

Also, I imagine that the amount of pedophiles will decrease as well, because with less people watching porn, then there would be less people going to hentei, which has a significant number of pedophilia, incest, and rape porn.

You got it backwards. Now people dont have an outlet. I dont get horny because of porn. I watch porn when Im horny. Also, pedophiles have an outlet when they have access to hentai. Not access would probably cause them to act out in their desires. Like I said, they have done studies on this. And apparently, it showed they more porn = less sex crimes. Again, there werent studies on what happens when they take it away. But the more likely scenario is it would increase those crimes instead...

Ill see if I can find the studies, but it definitely showed a decrease in sex crimes once porn was easily accessible. Im not saying before porn, sexual assaults were happening on every corner. But it was happening more than now. Plus, it definitely is an outlet for many people. Taking away that outlet is dangerous. Itll most like let cause people to act out on their desires.

The SJW left hates porn because the majority of its consumption and enjoyment is by straight men ie, (the enemy).
Oversimplification? A bit, but sadly not that far off the mark. FOSTA/SESTA and now this is Horseshoe Theory in action (a law written by religious Super PACs and then promoted publicly by Hollywood celebrities in an unholy union of far right and far left).
This bill sounds absolutely horrible and full of abusive holes you could drive a truck though. We're gonna have to fight it hard, send actual letters to our Senators and shit.

And yeah, it's always supposedly to "prevent CP" or "prevent human trafficking" yet always oddly ends up written to mostly just help enforce the intellectual property of large corporations and force sex workers into less safe online environments. I hope you realise that things were covered up or simply ignored way more in the "old days". I daresay it was far more common then because there was a culture of impunity for the perpetrators, and just men in general. Things like husbands beating their wives was just accepted. I made my mum laugh because I told her straight if I was a girl in her time I would have gone to prison over some guy troubling me constantly. It was simply the norm. Not even talking about constant workplace shenanigans where it was mostly men and a few women. That shite can't fly nowadays.

And there was only shame for the victims. Especially in the religious circles. Well in reality people were just as nasty as ever. It was either just brushed off and "tolerated" by women or kept hush hush. Even worse if you were a male victim. Now things still get covered up but it's harder to do because either people are more comfortable talking or the perps get exposed by their careless internet use or keeping certain files etc. The digital age makes it possible to track down such people where before there was either no evidence or only physical evidence which disappeared quick. Digital evidence lasts forever.

Theres no way a site as big as PH can actually manually review a video within 2 hours of it being flagged is there? There's gotta be like tens of thousands of reports a day, most of them bogus.

I did mention this in the PH topic but ultimately the problem is the same. It is impossible to police user generated content. There's simply too much of it but it's completely vital to how the internet works currently so things are eventually going to reach a breaking point.

Because Congress doesnt actually care whether the the porn actors are consenting or not. Its all a ploy to just get rid of porn.

Someone even found this:

Which shows that many people onboard dont even care about consenting. Just that porn itself it bad...

And its been stated before this doesnt do anything about sex trafficking. All it does it take it off of pornhub, which already happened. Unless you know how taking away porn will stop sex trafficking. People dont need a prom site to be up for sex trafficking.

And the sex crimes rates will most likely increase. Based on the studies. But you down really care about that. Since youre always up on your high horse, and think people should only like what you like.

Especially if someone just goes around reporting all porn just to get PH to have to check all those videos. They dont have enough people or time to check the all. Maybe they should either put a cap on how many videos can be reported a day, a limit to how many times a video can be reported, and the report has to say why and where it happened. The problem is that this brings different problems to the table. And people abusing it to get their content to stay up...

And removing porn doesn't stop that. The people who overindulge is porn still can and will. This just makes it so people can't watch the videos that love, or people can't post their own sessions on whatever site. The ignorant one is you if you really think getting rid of porn is going to do anything good. You'd also be ignorant if you thought this whole thing was about anything more than getting rid of all porn. That's the only goal here... It won't help society as society will always get their porn. Just like how society always got their alcohol. Something you should be aware of with how much you like it. It's the same thing, but this time it's porn instead. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should all be removed...

Yeah lets just ban every vice. Fuck it, no more caffiene or sugar or alcohol or fast cars or tv or video games. And porn being bad for society is very much debatable. Theres no metric for what is good for society so it's going to be subjective and differ from person to person.

And porn being bad for society is very much debatable. Theres no metric for what is good for society so it's going to be subjective and differ from person to person.

It's pretty well documented that growing up with addict parents is a negative. Also, young teens/adults thinking porn is a good example of healthy sexual expression is also a negative. I'm not saying porn should go away completely but there are some pretty good examples from this board alone as to why curtailing porn consumption is a good idea.

Why are people this heavily against porn? Nobody is hurting anything by watching it, what people do with their bodies in their own homes is their business and their business only.

Unless its child porn, then there might be a problem.

might?

The oldest medicine is safer than most produced by big pharma. And it was my hallway floor after a huge news year day party like 5 years ago.

No matter what they do its not like its gonna be difficult to find porn on the internet

Banning porn would raise sexual abuse rates.

You've continually shown us why alcohol should be curtailed as well
