Using the robot and clone skills. Seeing as how both of them drop grenades and I occasionally throw free grenades while shooting, I don't really need to throw them myself. I have people for that.

Up to Eden-6 already, looking for the Family Jewels.

The Q-System in particular, thanks to the free x2 projectile effect. It can actually outperform a lot of the gimmicky legendary weapons. Clone and Drone is indeed a great spec for Zane. I tend to give the Drone the radiation and rocket pod upgrades, while the Clone has cryo novas on swap and damage to the clone refills Zane's shields.

Premature detonation is a good option for group play, as it lets Zane keep his kill skills up without needing to kill anything.

It's also good for a first playthrough when you don't have the insane cooldown reduction that is an unlockable option after beating the story(it's something like quad speed cooldowns when your shields are full).

Also I picked up a Legendary relic but I'm like 31 and still can't use it.

I imagine it'll come up eventually, don't tell me.

I'm also not sure how I feel about the change to the D-Pad. I like the easy quest scroll and the alt modes are dope, but I wish there was another way.

The tag is useless.

For a Borderlands game it's basically a requirement to play any multiplayer with friends. Random pickup games are rare, and people do stupid stuff like kick players to protect their loot.

As for class mods and relics, yeah, the game tends to drop those earlier than they can be used on a fresh character.

BL2 just had loot level determine stuff IIRC. That was why players in that game could get rocket launchers at Fishguts Camp, or class mods on a broken pipe chest, etc.

I got the Unforgiven out of a Tyson cache. This is EXACTLY my kind of gun. There is a reason every character I've ever played kept a Jakobs revolver in their first weapon slot. I'm happy to finally have a Legendary one that isn't multishot, it goes against everything the company stands for.

Plus the reload animation is dope.

Also got a Bitch off of a Ratch.

Last bit of my load alternates but I got the Sellout off the "kill yourself" quest. Outsmarted Tyreen at the same time, used my Clone to teleport out of the deathtrap.

I'm not really a fan of how they changed Maliwan weapons, so I'm happy this one actually fires when I pull the trigger.

Yeah, swapping with your clone is a Zane staple. "Sure, Ty, I'll pull this lever..."

Maliwan in this is weird but it is important to know that the name of the weapon has a drastic effect on the behavior. For example, the sniper rifles work like this:

• Proton Rifle - you can tap the button to fire instantly, but charging will double all the stats from damage and DoT, to DoT proc rate and projectile speed; generally the "best" variant
• Particle Rifle - charges up to do a 3 shot burst, like a janky Dahl sniper
• Multiplex - charges up for a full auto attack

The shotguns are similarly strange:

• Shockwave - charges up for a cascading energy blast, like something out of a Mass Effect game, finite range but decent damage and can go through light cover
• Cyclotron - charges up for a swirl pattern of pellets fired off in succession, consumes multiple rounds of ammo
• Terminator - charges up for a full auto attack

The pistols and SMGs are a bit easier to understand. The former has a Proton Rifle like variant in the Melter, great for ambushes as you can jump out from cover with a fully charged shot to an enemy crit spot and they melt just like the weapon promises with its name. The latter are all automatic, and you're choosing whether you want splash damage, erratic shots with high damage or a beam that [poorly] mimics the beams from The Pre-Sequel.

Not on command.

The Duct Tape Mod skill gives him a chance to throw one when he fires the first round in a magazine. His clone can be specced to throw one either at spawn or despawn and with a chance to throw one when you defeat an enemy. The drone can be specced to drop them near enemies at regularly timed intervals.

So he has 3 avenues to launch grenades when using the clone and drone together.

And I usually only used Maliwan for SMG anyway, so it's not a huge loss to avoid them now.

Heads up that if you care about achievements at all they are currently broken for the Bounty of Blood DLC and you can't 100% it.

Got a pretty dope Artifact from it. My punching corrodes and also can attach sticky bombs. Comes with elemental resistance, cooldown bonus, and a boost to mag size.

Dpad gets weapon swapping back, fire mode goes to Y (hold), and who gives a shit about quick swapping quests

Got through the Cathedral, finally iced Troy.

When my Clone and I BOTH have The Love shotties, ain't nothing standing against us.

The trick To Be Continued countdown was clever. Was about 50 percent sure it was coming, but I wouldn't be surprised to get smacked with a downer ending.

The melee sticky bomb artifact works well with a Facepuncher shotgun, since it is considered melee damage. They can scale fairly well on a melee spec Amara.

My favored artifacts are the Hot Drop and the shock variant. In the post game you can get them as modifiers for Otto's Idol. The Hot Drop puts a pool of lava on the ground, and can launch 3 or 5 support orbs that just melt any flesh enemy. The shock variant turns your slam into a Tesla Grenade, placing a shock prod into the ground. Otto's Idol is a general survivability mod that restores health when you kill enemies.

Without the low gravity from Elpis it doesn't happen very often.

I did get the Otto Idol from either the aforementioned boss fight or one of the Anointed before it.

I would play the dlcs in release order, yeah. Every single dlc has incredible legendaries attached to them, making it valuable to play through them.

Also got surprised by finding out Hunt and Assassination targets level with you, nearly got rocked on Promethea after getting used to running past all the level 10 scrubs.

So I murdered the Power Rangers again and got another Thunderball, I fucking LOVE this gun.

Not quite as much as I love Nemesis. Like, I fucking HATED Dahl pistols for the entire series, and then this one showed up.

It was like level 7 and I used it into the early to mid twenties before it started to slow down.

Rare spawns too.

In fact you can use that during a playthrough to get leveled legendary gear. The Demoskaggons back on Pandora are great for that. The Monocle brings back the feeling of sniping with a Jakobs in BL2. The Night Hawkin is just an effective bullet hose of an SMG: cryo damage during the day and incendiary at night.

He's the singular terrible, terrible example. He drops ONE item, and it is rare. It used to be bugged and allowed you to get like 20x damage with a glitch, but has since been patched.

He's basically a reference to the now-defunct Battleborn.

Farmed a Night Hawk and Monocle.

The former is probably gonna get more mileage than the latter.

Also I fucking LOVE Earl's store.

Got a level 50 Amazing Gracie and Sellout from him.

Yeah, the Hawkin is definitely a better fit for Zane's run and gun style. To get real use out of the Monocle you MUST be aiming down the scope when firing; don't get the absurd bonus crit damage otherwise.

A lot of these areas are too small to use it effectively.

Ran through all the Trials I currently have, got a Rowan's Call that I'm using now, love this thing.

Also got class mods for like fucking everybody.

I picked up a Recursion a while back that's been doing work.

I just need to get another The Lob and I'll be happy. Current one is 15 levels below me and still rocking.

Working through. Got the Gun Gun, tried it on the Legendary setting.

Was NOT expecting it to use 200 Eridium.

Got a Malak's Bane, Krakatoa (again), and an Omniloader.

I managed to call Typhon being the Calypso's dad a bit before the official reveal.

I was gonna be super sad if I had to ice him, I love that little Yiddish Danny DeVito.

Had to kick it up to Mayhem 3 just to get the fucking thing to spawn, which caused a WHOLE different set of problems.
