For the most part, all the quotes and references that I wouldn't know as a kid, I know now. I don't know why its taken me this long to re-watch the series but it holds up.

They have a lot of references that you'd only get as an adult and as a parent. The creators were experts and did well. If anything's juvenile, its Spongebob >_> Other than the earlier seasons, I don't know why anyone likes Spongebob still.

It is very juvenile, but there's a special charm to it that still makes it watchable and of course there's the nostalgia factor. Now the adults are funny.

Just saw an episode where Angelica was trying to tell the adults that the babies escaped and her dad told her "You shouldn't interrupt adults when they're talking" and she kept trying to say something but he continued chiding her. Then he told her she could speak and when they realized the kids were gone, he said "That's something you should tell adults sooner" and it killed me.

When the adults were watching Stu's bad home movies, Tommy's grandpa picks up the phone and says something like "Hello, Dr. Kevorkian?". It's fun getting all the references that went over your head as a kid.

I agree. Also a lot of the references to his Jewish side went over my head too. Plus I like that it does teach others about it because I'd never know anything about it without Rugrats. The holiday stuff was actually some of my favorite episodes.

Although the series seemed to slowly stray into a different territory and I lost interest. This was around Dil and Kimmie IIRC
