Topic.

Bought a $1000+ two stage snow blower from Costco ~4 years ago, and now it seems like it's broken. Costco let's you return pretty much anything at any time, so I'm wondering if I should return this. For a $1000+ product, that I seldom use, I expected this thing to last 10+ years, not freakin' 4 seasons.

What does CE think?

Should have mentioned this, my bad; the manufacturers warranty is two years.

To clarify, I think the electric starter is dead (yes, I tried recharging it), and even though it starts when manually pulling on the cord, the chute directional controller doesn't seem to work. Everything else still works fine (impeller, auger, engine, drive system).

After 4 years that's really something that is on you to get fixed. Have you actuality done anything to make sure it is maintained properly?

Change oil and filter at beginning of season, and drain gas at end of season. That's about all the maintenance required.

If thats their policy and youre honest about it I dont see why not. Id try to fix it or get it fixed though. Returning it and being dishonest about it would blow though (not saying you plan on doing that) - pun not intended.
Dishonest about what? I mean I'm not going to return it and just pocket the cash. I fully intend to go buy another snow blower (if they have it in stock lol).

Some people might lie about how long theyve had it or what the problem is.
Oh. I mean Im sure I have a digitized copy of the receipt somewhere which Ill bring with me, or costco will have it in their internal system. And when I get there, I can show them that it wont start with the electric start lol
