The first two worlds are really fucking good and the third one is alright so far. Playing this on PC at a smooth 60 has helped my opinion of this game

I just thought it was kind of boring more than anything else. Also getting 100% seemed like a pain too with the feathers.

I hope they make a proper Yooka Laylee 2 to fix some of the issues the first game had. It was fun but didn't feel like a super great successor to Banjo-Kazooie like it was marketed as being.

After playing it my final assessment is that it's a game made by talented people who didn't really care about making it

I think they came up with this cool gimmick of expanding worlds without figuring out a way to use it in an interesting way

once you do the first world and get enough pagies theres no reason to start a world until youve upgraded it, since the base world is just an unfinished version

they found the right way to do this in the Impossible Lair; which actually has quite a few cool innovations for a platformer. Every level has two forms that are activated by doing different actions on the overworld

It felt like they only thought through the first hour or two and then were like Shit we have to make a whole game now.

Thankfully the sequel is a near-masterpiece. Impossible Laid is right up there with DKC2 and Tropical Freeze in terms of amazing platformers.
Can confirm

Id like to see them take what they learned for Impossible Lair and make a proper 3D platformer sequel

I liked Impossible Lair, but I think I would've liked it less if I'd played it after Tropical Freeze instead of before

Yeah, definitely. The idea of changing/expanding worlds was cool but was underutilized since, as you said, no reason to visit a world without expanding it first. This is something I hope they can do in a proper sequel.
