First topic purged...much like many of my starting units in this game.

Got a high faith White Mage who can job change to Mystic. Does job affect stat growths? Because this girl really needs some MP growth pronto.

Kept a bunch of units as squires until I could grab JP boost. Also have focus on 3 units just to farm more Job points. Converted 2 into archers, but the class seems like poop. I'll stick it out until the job level is high enough to change again.

Was getting bodied in random encounters and story battles alike until I adjusted abilities so half the units had the ability to potion spam. Feels like I'm out of the proverbial woods now and can start actually building a party.

If it's the same as the OG FFT, stat growth from jobs is almost completely unnoticeable. The majority of stats are derived from job multipliers (which will be applied whenever you change jobs), and equipment.

What's worse is that the lag isn't even necessary, it was ADDED. There are ways to remove it. Big fucking trash heap that remake was.

It only lagged on the psp version. If tc is playing on the Android then they fixed the lag.

I am indeed on Android. No lag yet, just me misselecting and re-selecting my movement space several times per turn.

I got 2 thief's now. Gonna make my high bravery Knight into a monk I think, do they need faith as well?

White mage is honestly carrying up until now. I keep doing skirmishes because I'm always underprepared for the current fight in the story. I either forget to adjust skills after a job change or do something else that makes the fight too much of a chore. I'll probably knock it out after 1-2 more skirmishes and outfitting my homies.

Just plummet faith and have chemists or monks heal.

Just get a chocobo and make a red chocobo party and cheese the game.

That's Spill-Over JP. If you do an action with Ramza while he's a Black Mage, everyone that's in the fight will gain a little bit of JP in Black Mage as well

Not yet. I enjoy getting my ass kicked honestly.

It reminds me of how I didn't realize in the original mass effect that you had to level up in the menu until I kept getting my ass kicked by the assassin's in the citadel.

When you have that moment of realization as to the mechanics you're not utilizing and you enter the next battle stronger by an order of magnitude, it feels great.

But yeah, down the line I will almost certainly ask for info/details.

Got a couple of Dragoons now. Just beat the mission at the Thieves den. Charm seems....sorta busted. Is there a way to lower the chance of success? Did I just get unlucky with 3 of my units all getting charmed?

Also, I do not understand the Zodiac signs. I do not know which symbol is which sign, I do not understand the relationshps, I'll probably try to figure it out later today.

I'll just explain Brave and Faith to you

Brave is simple. If you have 70 Brave on a unit, they will use their Reaction Skills [Auto-Potion, Counter, Speed Save, ect] 70% of the time

Faith is a bit harder to explain. It effects magical spells and status effects. If a unit has high Faith, they will not only hit harder with spells, but they will also take more damage from them. Not only will they land Charm, Sleep and Slow more often on the mobs, but they will be hit by them more often as well. They will take more damage from Fire, but also be healed more by Cure.

So I don't know if you were unlucky or not with those 3 Charms. If their Faith was high, then it will be easier to Charm them

As for Zodiac Signs, that's really not a big thing. There is just a compatibility system in the game that effects % a slight bit more. You can press Select and hover over their sign to see them. But don't worry about it too much

I like to hack Ramza into , which bypasses the "compatibility" system entirely.

When you say %, you mean hit% right? It's not affecting damage numbers? I have two monks of almost equal Bravery but the male monk hits for more than twice what the female monk is hitting for. Similarly leveled.

Yes

If you have 70 Brave, Auto-Potion will trigger 70% of the time. It also effects Move-Find-Item, but don't worry about that too much. Just know that the lower your Brave is, the higher the chance of finding the Rare item on the spot.

I like how characters have autonomy even if they're not the primary antagonist/protagonist. The fights leading up to the end of chapter 1 didn't have to be as uncomfortable as they were, but I appreciate it from a writing perspective.

Probably the one to the north with the two black mages and the time mage. I kept getting overeager and putting a unit too deep into harms way early on. I also got half the squad immobilized one time by the time mage and that was a reset pretty quickly.

I feel a bit overleveled, but honestly, the grind is the most fun part of the game so far so I'm not going to stop myself from having fun.

Just to let you know, the random fights will always be around your level, however, there is a catch - Monster Class characters will be as well. There is going to be a level latter that is going to f'n wreck you if you get way too high. It's okay to grind, don't let what I'm saying prevent that, I love fighting the random fights as well, but don't get too carried away, lol

I can't answer that, tbh. For the past 10 or 15 years I only do solo Ramza runs, so I have zero clue anymore what a new player's team should be since I could beat the entire Chapter 1 with everyone at Level 1

I turned Ramza into a Ninja. Wasn't impressed, but then he got his weapon destroyed in the middle of battle.

Ramza "2 for flinching" Beoulve murdered everyone. Then I threw Brawler on his ass and now he's a literal murder machine.

I'm through chapter 2 now. The cardinal turned into a being of unspeakable horror. Ramza and his buddy surrounded him and turned him into a 2 fist mist. Thank God for Esuna and Purification.

I am playing on Android.

I am in this Monestery from hell. I won the first 2 battles(first ez. Second less ez.) But the third one is rough with positioning. I have a save from before these fights, but I wanna see if I can gimmick my way to a win first.

And then returned as a blue abomination. I'm pretty sure I can clear the fight, I just need to figure out of offense is the answer, or If I try to surround him and pummel him on turn 1.

Wiegraf is dead. He was surrounded and punched to death. My party is basically an angry mob at this point.

I'm overleveled because I keep trying to run errands at two taverns on opposite sides of the map and get 3-4 random encounters running from one to the other. 3 people have mastered the Ninja job at this point.

I'm already thinking of a second run now that I know stuff that I didn't on my first playthrough.
