ER Nurse, Matthew W., a San Diego California Nurse has tested POSITIVE of COVID-19, just EIGHT DAYS after receiving the vaccination!!

He got the Pfizer vaccine on December 18 and wrote about it on his instagram and said "Got my covid vaccine! The 15 minutes afterward sitting around with a bunch of others while health care workers asked us how we felt made me think of an opium den. I'll report back if i start to grow a third arm"

But on Christmas Eve, Matthew, who works at 2 different hospitals began feeling ill after a shift in a COVID unit

He told ABC10 news he first got chills before coming down with muscle aches and fatigue.

On December 26th, he went to get tested and it confirmed he had it

While it is surprising, it's not unexpected according to health experts

Dr. Christian Ramers, an infectious disease specialist says it's not unsuaul at all and said if you work through the numbers, that's exactly what they would think happens if one is exposed as he may have been infected before getting the vacine and if that's true, then it's still in line with what health officials know.

He said "We know from the vaccine clinical trials, it'sgoing ot take 10-14 days for you to start to develop protection from the vaccine"

Ramers also said he's aware of other health care workers who become infected after receiving the vaccine as the first dose gives you 50% of protection while the second dose is a booster of 95%

Matthew says he's feeling better now however.

The Trump admin said their goal was to vaccinate 20 million americans by the end of the year but they've only vaccinated 2 MILLION..which is far below target as Trump blames STATES for the slow roll out but health experts said Operation Warp Speed overpromised and underdelivered

Hm, yeah, Im not even familiar with the science but Ive always kind of assumed vaccines werent some kind of magic medicine that made you immune immediately. Especially when this particular vaccine requires two doses, weeks (days?) apart.

Anyway, its good to hear hes doing better now.

He has yet to take the second dose. And the first dose only gives you 50% chance protection. Vaccine also takes around 10-14 days to work so he may have caught it before he took the vaccine or it might be the 50% chance thing.
