Dreams come true. Presenting, a Sonic 1 prototype for the Sega Mega Drive. This has it all, CLOCK WORK ZONE, SPARKLING ZONE, UFOs, RING, the ball in GHZ, etc. [link] A very special thanks to Buckaroo for giving us the opportunity to release this. Happy New Year!

Are these prototype zones playable, or are they like, Hidden Palace level where you need the debug code to go through it?

Notable difference so far:

-Green Hill Zone is different
-You get an extra life at 50 rings.
-No Special Stage appears if you reach the end of the level with 50 rings
-There's a rolling ball at the start of Act 1
-If you drop down from a cliff too high and the camera doesn't scroll fast enough down, you die if you go out of frame lol
-Sonic jumps and fist pounds the air after you reach the end
-Wall Cameleons are pink instead of green
-No checkpoints anywhere
-UFOs in Marble Zone
-Different wall spike objects in Marble Zone
-Those pink crabs that have spikes on the top from Spring Yard Zone are in Marble Zone. The catapiller enemies arent anywhere in Marble Zone

No Splats anywhere so far >_>

LOL no boss in Marble Zone in Act 3. It's just a goalpost and it goes right to Sparkling Zone.

Also Sparkling Zone is just Spring Yard Zone but with waaaaay more shining lights in the background. It looks more like a casino level now but the layout is still mostly the same

And when you beat Act 1 of Sparkling Zone, it goes to Star Light Zone Act 1 >_> wut

Star Light Zone Act 1 is very different from the final version. There's a lot of jumping on platforms and bottomless pits. It's kind of like another version of Marble Zone with all the tight platforming you've got to do.

And when you beat Act 1 of Star Light Zone, the game just ends lol. Looks like you can use Level Select to get to other levels though

Act 2 and 3 of Sparkling Zone and Act 2 and 3 of Star Light Zone have complete layouts but a lot of enemies and objects (bumpers, springs) are missing, so you need debug mode to navigate it. Plus there's no goalpost nor boss at the ends of the levels

Clock Work Zone Act 1 and Act 2 is just Scrap Brain Zone but it has a VERY different layout and is missing all objects and enemies. Plus the level is definitely incomplete with tons of dead ends and such. It uses Scrap Brain Zone Act 2's tile set but the background is all glitched up

Labyrinth Zone is also incomplete. It has dead ends in the level, there's no water, no enemies, and no objects anywhere

Special Stage is incomplete. There's no Chaos Emerald, only 1 stage, and the layout is super simple. Also when you reach the goal tiles on the wall, the game softlocks >_>
