It's kind of amazing to me how my job is handling this. I had a change scheduled today and a bunch of changes coming up that I wanted to make sure I wasn't falling behind on. I got a call from someone in HR because they wanted to see how I was feeling. I told them I had a couple things to do today and some stuff to follow up on. So I got up at about 9 and started checking work stuff and handling the change that I was scheduled to do today. I got the stuff done, but then I got a call from my boss who insisted that I just keep resting and recovering and stop worrying about work.

This is completely opposite of how my last job would have been handling this. Toward the end of my tenure at my last job, it was a luxury if I got a day off. Being on call 24/7, someone always needing something done with the network, the company trying to open 4 new locations around the same time, etc. just gave me no time to recharge my batteries. And it's just something I just mentally tried to get used to even though it was slowly driving me crazy. Even when I was sick, I still had to work. Even when my dad passed away, I still had to work. I was working on the way to my dad's funeral.

Now to have my boss at this place tell me to not worry about work and just rest and relax while I'm sick... It's awesome, but it still feels strange, lol.

Most of my symptoms are gone.

• Night time fevers+chills - Mostly gone, I had a fever for a couple hours yesterday evening, but that's about it
• Congestion in throat - Still an issue, but it's getting better
• Coughing - Still an issue, but getting better
• Congestion in nose - Still an issue, but getting better
• Loss of taste/smell - This is one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced. It was at its worst for about 12 hours. I can taste things somewhat now, but the problem is still there. Can't smell very well yet.

I'm up and down these days. Sometimes I'm feeling like I'm good to go, other times I feel like crap.

Fevers are coming back here and there, which is most of the problem. Still have some congestion in dealing with along with a cough.

Have you had the flu or any other illness (like strep throat) recently, and if so how does COVID compare to that?

I had some kind of cold or flu back in January last year, but that was over and done with in about 3 days.

I'm into day 11 of battling covid and still fighting symptoms. I've also never had a cold or flu keep me awake for the vast majority of 48 hours.
