At the state level, Nevada was purple-leaning-red until fairly recently - the Senate and House were both purple, and Republicans had control of the governorship for 20 years. Now there's a Democratic governor, two female Democratic Senators, and 3/4 of the House members are blue. Actually, a Democrat just won a contested house race in a district that's pretty clearly gerrymandered to give Republicans the edge. Trump was always bound to do well here. He's the country's most known "hotel guy" spending lots of money in a state almost entirely dependent on the hotel industry.
