eh, twitter stock being down a bit doesn't matter. on that end, it's friday evening, probably on purpose at that. it'll go back up. they're just following facebook's example and probably using the same excuse, though really it's just trying to take advantage as much as possible there.

From past discussions, it doesn't seem like the 230 stuff is a good fix. Bankruptcy seems like a better one. There are a lot of bad social media platforms but Twitter may be the worst.

Trump would have been immediately banned if Section 230 were repealed even in the absence of Wednesday's events. Without 230's shield they might be found liable for Trump's defamatory tweets, and he'd be an unacceptable legal risk.

I haven't really used Facebook other than Messenger in years. I guess I use it mainly as a place to store old photos? From what I've been reading on this board, it's gotten very very toxic.

Don't think Twitter's ever turned a profit though, which is why bankruptcy is even something that can be hoped for. I still have Amazon as the worst, but there's no hope of bankruptcy there obviously.

twitter has no profit, no. it's held up by the blue check class.
facebook is an all purpose social media. memes, shitposting, politics, news, all of it. there's no real specialization to it, it's closer to reddit than anything else.

Yeah, I should also say, I might be an Apple shareholder, although I'm not managing that account. But I'm not opposing that decision either though. And I'm obviously not above reading Twitter links that people post in this topic. So I guess I'm just not very dedicated to this. Do hope Amazon loses market share and Twitter goes bankrupt though.
