Wow, that absolutely sounds beautiful - thats Woodys son? Intro riff sounds similar but that vibraphone sound and some of those guitar licks really set up such a wonderful backdrop for those lyrics

Might have to check out some of this other tunes.. not familiar with Woody Guthries stuff either tbh

Ya, that is a really nice song.
I just felt like posting it.

And ya, that is Woodys, son.
Arlo is pretty awesome.
My dad met him way back in the day and said he was a lot of fun.

You have certainly heard, The City of New Orleans.
He has other don't get as much air time.

Woody...
You really might want to look into his stuff, it's completely worth it.

Hehe, I've been on a lowkey 80's kick myself!

I feel "This Land is Your Land" should be our national anthem.

And yes his guitar was always awesome!
So in honor of that, I could post this.
But there are a lot of great songs.
I'll post more if you want. Including one of my all time favorite songs.

Hey thats was pretty good, wish I had my guitar around to try and learn it :3

please do! yeah Ive got a lot of exploring on the folk side of things.. been into Dylan (obv), Mitchell, Baez, Roy Harper, Jackson Browne, and Jim Croce but dont really know much of the people before them

I totally agree with you on This Land is Your Land though.. what a fantastic song, ever since I was a kid I was like how is this not heralded as the pulse of what drives America but I grew up as a kid with biases over how they treated minorities like me so it was a song I sort of had my reservations on

grow up and you start opening up your mind to the reality that you can take these things and still spread a good message around
