You're playing your 2nd favorite video game one day when you're approached by your longtime friend Jane.

She tells you that she discovered her girlfriend Makoto was actually ridiclously, comically good at games to an "as close as a human can get to being a computer program" degree BUT she is incredibly immensely shy to the degree that she can't play if people are looking at her or watching her. At all, she just freezes up. This surprises you because you didn't think Makoto had played a video game in her life.

This realization led Jane to hatch a plan to enter E-sport championships and tournaments, have Makoto remotely play the game in a nearby basement by herself. Meanwhile you will sit in the chair in front of the cameras, wear the sponsored T-shirt, drink the Monster energy cans and press buttons, pretending to mirror what Makoto is actually doing on screen. You'll be the face, Makoto will be the brain and Jane will be the body, do all the admin. Do the paperworker, set up the remote technology etc.

"I'd do it myself but I'd stick out like a sore thumb and draw suspicion if I won all this. To pull this off our frontman needs a dorky unattractive guy that nobody look twice at being a new E-sports champion. You'd get all the glory, do no work and pocket 13%. What do you say? I mean it's not cheating exactly... Makoto will be winning fairly... You'll just be taking the credit. You in?" Jane asks

Getting over fear is part of being in a tournament.

In my first video game tournament I was nervous and flubbed all sorts of things I'd never flub normally.

The other competitors have to get over it. So should Makoto.

Have Jane be the talent and on top of being an e sports champ, she also gets extra fame and recognition for being a girl gamer. Her being the talent would be leagues more successful than me being the talent.

this reminds me of a competent yoshi's island speedrunner who streamed TAS/recordings of a playthrough and pretended that he was playing in real time

another speedrunner got suspicious and asked him to do something during an autoscroll level and the streamer was like "nope, can't do that, wasted motions" or some BS like that

at one point his dumb ass even had a controller cam but of course there were times when his hand inputs didnt matchup with the recording

he got called out and quit speedrunning and left the scene i think

if he can't get away with fooling his audience then there's no way i could lol

Tekken is notorious for its low player turnout and low prize money.

It's a D Tier e-sport. Only people who suck too much to make it in the big leagues do it

and im not even a tekken stan, i like it but i mainly put my time into street fighter/soul calibur

but keep thinkin anybody could just jump into tekken and take out Knee and Arslan Ash XD
