Exaggeration for effect, obviously there have always been some people that fall for a stripper/prostitute, but the level of delusion among some of the (at least more vocal) simps is astounding. And as to the other I'm using prostitute in a more colloquial sense of someone selling a false presentation of themselves rather than specifically selling sexual acts.
