The following members of the Democratic Caucus are not currently on-board with removing the filibuster(and thus effectively support letting Mitch have the keys):
Jon Tester(MT), Kyrsten Sinema(AZ), Joe Manchin(WV), Chris Coons(DE), Diane Feinstein(CA), and Angus King(I-ME).

So yeah, things are going great right now! Punting on governing would drive us right back into worst-case scenarios.

It just means governing by executive order and using budget reconcilation to make smaller changes

Democrats used the filibuster against Trump far more than any other president. if you think getting rid of the filibuster is a good idea, just imagine if they had done it during Obama and every single one of those 314 blocks made it through.

I get that a short-sighted power grab seems super appealing right now, but Democrats would be shooting themselves in the foot long-term by stripping away that power.

This is because democrats also use the filibuster to obstruct republican legislature.

Executive order to remove it, stop playing nice.

And arrest everyone supporting or involved in the coup, including McConnell, Cruz, boebert, and the other cronies.

They won't have to worry about power at all after 2022 if they don't.

Moreover, it is, in fact, a bad thing that the Senate is a graveyard where legislation goes to die, and the fact that it is occasionally bad legislation that dies there doesn't make up for it.

The democrats use of the filibuster did fuck all because Trump just appointed "actings" to everything instead. This isn't a short sighed power grab at all since it can't be used to fucking block anything important and still let all the judicial nominees through.
