I guess this is a stupid question but I'm a scaredy cat but I like horror games but find difficulty playing them. I actually played halfway through Resident Evil 7 and stopped playing and while I liked the game, I began having nightmares. Is there a way to make it easier? Does getting a buzz help? I want to play it again and actually beat it this time >_<

Unlimited fire with no reload cheat. Just keep spraying everywhere.

>_> That sounds...pretty cool but...

The game was more than that. I remember walking into the house at the beginning and seeing the silhouette of your wife walking through the front door area and then going to find that she's not there...and then she sneaks up on you and begins attacking you.

That whole fight with her was terrifying and I remember just running from room to room, flinching and trying to shoot.

Then there's, Jack, I think that's his name? Walking around the house with an ax...having to stealth my way through.

And then his wife...who...was the most terrifying thing in the world ;_; Even if I just went in guns blazing, there's that feeling that will just haunt me..I'll shoot at everything..lol.

Its pretty immersion-breaking but it seems to me thats kinda what youre after... so Turn down volume and put on a podcast or your own music

Hm, that sounds like it could work...but I never tried it. I might try it but I might not...I feel like immersion is the point >_<

The second half of RE7 is far less scary and a lot more combat-focused.

You should be happy that you can still get scared from such things. Most of us are endlessly searching for that kind of high that we cannot obtain anymore.

I wouldn't say I'm happy. It gives me nightmares and sometimes I can't sleep. I imagine something shooting out from my hallway and grabbing me in the middle of the night. I'm shocked I can sleep in the dark since when I was a kid, I found that impossible.

This tbh, it's like a learned skill.

Cherish the fact a game can still scare you.

My friends tell me that its a gift. That I should do streaming but only with horror games because when I get scared, it gets dramatic. Playing dead by daylight has caused my neighbors to complain to my landlady

like I said before, I never thought to put music on but I have played during the day. I actually beat Until Dawn by playing in the early noon everyday until completion.

I tried playing Resident Evil remaster at night thinking I was brave enough but the sounds of the moaning in the background along with the music made it impossible...lol...It was midnight and I ended up marathoning King of the Hill until dawn after.

A little bit of alcohol got me through the rougher parts of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Strangely enough, I don't think I even had nightmares of that game. My nightmares have their own agenda, it seems.

My brother is super jumpy at games, I found that putting on music that "gets toy PUMPED" works. Find something that makes you go agression mode and you'll be fine.

Alternatively, play with lights on and sound down. The podcast idea sounded good.

Oh, or of it's just the dreams that's getting to you; learn to Lucid Dream. I did recently and it's done wonders for my night terrors; I usually cant move or talk in them, and is very discomforting. I literally have to check my limbs/jaw some times when I wake up. Hell, my jaw hurts from the clenching sometimes when I wake up.

It might be the clenching causing the Night Terrors not the other way around btw - try and fix that issue first. I think more magnesium or zinc can help. I forget which.
My diets pretty bad, I wont lie; and a lot of it external (limbs not moving is because my dog lays on them while I'm asleep), but the Lucid dreaming helps a lot.

Thanks though, I'll look into it.

The only fun way to make horror games easier to play is with someone else there.

Like, play a horror game with your friends/girlfriend. Scream and shit yourself together, and then laugh at how wussy you are.

But don't use cheats because that breaks the entire game

I liked the idea of streaming for that reason but I honestly don't like people in my apartment...maybe one day I'll have a get-together but I tend never to play single player games with other people in my house.
