Adopting a child from another culture or ethnicity and giving it a traditional name from your background or giving it a traditional name from its own?

Would either decision be racist? Let's assume you got the baby through adoption because it was the first baby available, you didn't set out to adopt a specific race, you just wanted a child to love and raise.

Neither is racist, and you should stop letting people who have defined their lives around claiming everything is racist to tell you otherwise. Context matters. It would be racist if you saw a child from another culture and addressed them with some stereotypical name intentionally, but if you are adopting a child and trying to give that child a name and are considering from a variety of options nothing about your behavior is racist.
