We still don't have an exact date, but on or around Valentine's Day my "friend" is coming to visit for a few days and we're going to go on a hike in the desert mountains, go have a nice dinner at a fancy Japanese restaurant, and maybe do some ketamine!

This gimmick is shit. Can't even keep up with his own lies.

Probably gonna have my wife wake up to some beautiful flowers, chocolate and breakfast. I'll drop the kids off at the grandparents and take her on a nice hike date. I'll probably pack a lunch and bring candles. After our hike, take her to dinner. Then after that, take her home, strip her naked, tie her to a tree, and have my way with her. Finally we would drink some wine in the hot tub

We used to get couples massages at a spa and go to the Alamo Drafthouse to do a Moulin Rouge sing-along dinner and a movie. Before covid, was a bit of a tradition.

This year.. Probably just a romantic dinner or picnic in the park. Give each other a massage. Light some candles and incense for a spa like experience.

I've never celebrated Valentine's Day. I mean we had some gift exchanges in secondary school if you count that. The entire concept is so juvenile indeed it's best left to that setting.

Probably dinner from our favorite steakhouse. I am planning to get her some flowers. Im still trying to plan a little.

I ended up doing some of the ketamine last night. But not all of it! Still plenty for use on B-day if we want.

Nothing concrete yet, but I'm thinking something nice for dinner and a fun, semi-fancy dessert. The last couple years, it's been this cake, which is delicious:

I may do the same thing again, or I may try something else. I might make something more snack-ish as well, possibly macarons (I'm thinking lavender-earl grey ganache).

We're definitely not going out, though. Covid numbers are low enough around here that dine-in is probably safe enough, but neither of us has any interest in braving the insanity that is going to a restaurant on Valentine's.

This is the first time I'm going to celebrate Valentines Day in a romantic way. I'm excited!

My girlfriend lives in the Philippines. I'm in the US. So our options are obviously limited. But we're lucky in the fact that VD also happens to be her day off of work! (She's a workaholic.) So we should be able to spend the day together in a video call. I'm throwing together a homemade paper puppet show for her, and setting up a surprise burger delivery. We'll talk, maybe listen to music, and stuff like that.

Any other advice on what couples can do for fun, in long-distance relationships? (In B4 cyber.)

The stupid side of me wants to say my plan is to give an exceptionally mediocre wienering.

The normal part of me wants to say that I'm hoping to be able to take my wife out for a nice sit down dinner now that restaurants opened back up in Michigan. Regardless there will be a massage since her back is real sore from the baby she's growing. Also, there will be donuts because she loves her sweets.
