Current Events > Anyone else feel emotionally invested in Yakuza's stories?

I'm finally playing through Yakuza 3 since it finally released on Steam, and the scene with Kiryu and one of the orphans in the very beginning of the game is already hitting me in the feels. I usually don't feel that many emotions from video game stories, but Yakuza is good at it. I think I was really close to actually shedding a tear (or did shed a tear) in 0's most tragic moment. K1 was pretty tragic too, but it didn't affect me quite as much as 0. Can't wait to finish 3-6 and move on to 7.

Oh totally. 0 hit me hard, and I definitely felt invested in Like a Dragon's characters even if the overarching plot didn't have the same emotional impact.

I really have to get back to playing Yakuza 0, it's my first game I've played in the series and I didn't even get very far, maybe an hour into the game. I was worried about the character interaction being awkward but it flowed really well so I was intrigued but sat the game down for some reason the past couple months

I seriously cannot wait to dive into it. JRPGs are one of my favorite genres and Dragon Quest might be my favorite JRPG series. I love how the main character loves it too.

I definitely recommend picking it back up when you get the chance. 0 alone was amazing enough to make me a fan of the whole series.
