Not to needlessly bump an old topic, but I wanted to complain about Civ 6 again...

I don't know why, but the Achievements are REALLY finicky.

Iike, I still need a basic "win on a duel map" achievement... and I have been getting other achievements, but sometimes the game gets in a mood and will never give you ANY.

Yet other times you can play multi-player hot seat with yourself and win against yourself and get like 10 achievements all at once

It makes no sense

I had the same problem.
I played a lot of Civ IV and Civ V, even some Beyond Earth, but I could never get into Civ VI, and I never got any of the expansions.

I claim that it had to do with me falling out of the 4x genre.
