All the better actors are old af and close to retiring and all these forgettable young faces that are supposed to replace them will be the end of cinematography.

Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprico, Will Smith, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Samuel L Jackson, Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler, all these movie gods are reaching the end of their careers. Now all we have are literal whos who aren't innovative, inspiring, or spectacular, and their biggest roles are in netflix shows that no one remembers after a week. Tragic.

there are still a bunch of great recent actors, but it's just that we live in an era of streaming, we have access to a lot more movies than we did in the past, and I feel because of that, it's more difficult for actors to distinguish themselves over others.

but every so often, you hear about a Timothee Chalamet, Michael B Jordan, Zendaya, etc. who have some kinda staying power.

imo, that's not a bad thing

to be honest, when you see a movie with a big superstar, it become more about "oh it's tom cruise playing this role" rather than "oh this is a real person in this story". It's needlessly distracting, actors are supposed to become a character, not the other way around.

Now it's the movie itself that sells not the star power.
