My editor wants me to write an article about a newly established group in town that markets events to out-of-towners to try and make the city more of a destination place. They straight up told me that their primary focus is not on locals, so I write a profile on them describing just that.

Meanwhile, my editor reads it, and immediately wants me to change it up because "our audience is locals, they don't care about that," but the thing is they're not going to care anyway. We're a local publication and they advertise events for tourists. The locals are never going care about this story, so why can't we just scrap it?
