I get having her fired because she's shedding a negative light on the company. But the amount of joy a lot of you are taking in this is problematic.

You should cry more for the poor MAGA who couldn't stop shitposting

If she was still posting dumb ass memes like the one that got her fired then sure.

Except there's been plenty of prominent people tin the last month alking about drone striking Republicans or calling for the police or military to gun down crowds of Trump supporters, even saying that Republican members of Congress should be impeached and charged with terrorism. MSNBC has had multiple commentators compare Donald Trump to Anwar al-Awlaki, a US citizen who was killed with a drone strike. So it's actually not that much of a stretch when extremists on your side are talking about killing or mass imprisoning people and not facing any consequences for it.

But my question for you is around incitement, she said to her panel. We had a policy, and it was very controversial, it was carried out under the Bush years, and under the Obama years, of attacking terrorism at its root. Of going after and killing, and in the case of Anwar Awlaki, an American, a Yemeni-American, with a drone strike for the crime of inciting violence, inciting terrorism.

Circling back to McConnell, Wallacewho was President George W. Bushs communications directoradded: Mitch McConnell was in the Senate then. He was in the Senate after 9/11, too. How does Mitch McConnellwho understands that the way you root out terrorism, is to take on, in the case of Islamic terrorism, kill those who incite ithow does he not vote to convict someone that he said, on the floor of the Senate, incited an insurrection?

can't wait to hear you guys explain how this is actually a really reasonable statement

Well if there's plenty of "prominent people" doing all the things you mentioned I'm sure you'll be able to dig up some sources for those claims, right?

And yes, they are calling for republican members of congress to be impeached because they are continuing to back and support the man who incited his followers to storm the seat of our government to stop the certification of a free and fair election. In other words, sedition.

Edit: should have checked your account before I responded, totally not a troll alt.

No, that's definitely not an okay reason to take pleasure in the suffering of other people. Her grandfathers were probably drafted to go fight in a war on the other side of the world and saw all the horrors of war you can imagine. Everyone suffers, and that seemed to be her whole point, when you trivialize the suffering of others it becomes easier to excuse worse abuses later.

For the record this is nothing that anti-hate experts haven't said before either.

A) I didn't say take pleasure, I said satisfaction. If someone with a loudspeaker minimizes your culture is it not okay to be satisfied when they face a consequence for it? (Again, satisfaction NOT pleasure)
B) I'm not clear what you are getting at with the statement "minimize the suffering of others" - that's exactly what she did? So you agree it's dangerous?
C) Look very closely at the bottom row of the pyramid (how it all starts). Bias is an irrational belief, while saying politicians that vehemently advocated falsehoods about the election should face consequences is based on the *rational* belief that elections should be verifiable after countless audits.

The suffering has to do with lack of income. Not the job itself. How did you not realize that?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if she's more upset about losing the prestige/popularity that comes with being in that show since she will likely get other jobs pretty easily (though admittedly not as lucrative)

Still though this begs the question, do you think everyone who isn't a millionaire is suffering?

This is something I don't understand about this discourse. After I graduated from college, I worked at McDonald's to support myself and my family. Before they got sick my mom worked at Walmart. My dad was a subcontractor installing flooring and countertops. Of course this describes millions of families.

There is no way she can't find work doing those things. Where's the suffering? Most people never get the privilege to make a ton of money acting

Guarantee a lot of the people defending her would tell you some sort of "get woke, go broke" and that you deserved it. They'd also tell you to go get a job flipping burgers or something, implying that there are many jobs out there you can easily go get after being fired for your own negligence.

Having no source of income and the idea that you could never be hired again because of being cancelled sounds terrifying to me. I'm sure she will find work but at the time where she thinks the whole world hates her, she's probably also thinking she'll never work again.

The whole world doesn't hate get, she was just on a podcast. Look at her Twitter feed that she still has.

And I think tons of people are suffering. A s*** ton due to money. I'm a huge supporter of UBI to help resolve that. I hate the idea of just a min wage increase because it still gives businesses too much power to abuse their staff with threat of job loss.

That's great, but I'd still like to hear how gina carano is suffering. There's a big difference between minimum wage workers and multimillionaires, obviously.

But I mean, I worked since I was 14. When I was in college, I had 3 jobs going at once while being in school full time. My "day off" would be once every few weeks where I only had one 8 hour shift at one of my jobs. Clearly not as bad as your situation but my life hasn't exactly been glamourous either.

I'm not sharing to garner sympathy, just putting things into perspective. Gina carano never needs to work again, if she's frugal and willing to give up luxuries she's become accustomed to. Hard to believe you think that's suffering considering what you've had to do

She has 8 million bucks of net worth. She could put a chunk of that as an investment and still live a significantly better life than anyone on this board. She lives an incredibly privileged like (which likely lead to her moronic tweets) and she will continue to do so. Losing a job because she's too stupid to take it seriously isn't really worth sympathy.

What you said was suffering earlier was losing income. That's the conversation we had at least. Like I said, she was just on a podcast and still has many fans, so even if this is what you are saying now or meant before, I still don't understand how that's suffering
