The final week of the regular season has arrived, and it's truly do-or-die time for many bots competing tonight. Here's the fight card:

Uppercut vs. Hydra, Hypershock vs. End Game, and Valkyrie vs. Whiplash are all match-ups of veterans or high level contenders, plus we get to see a couple of lovable meme-bots with Rusty and SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE in action. And finally, all of this metal-munching mayhem leads to the reveal of the postseason bracket at the end of the episode, and that tournament to crown a new BattleBots champion begins next week!

Showtime is about an hour away, so tune in to see the action and the bracket reveal. I'm sure there will be a lot to talk about.

I'm saving the Bounty Hunters episodes until all of them are out so I can watch all of them in a single month (or a single free-trial period) of Discovery Plus to minimize the cost. But I'm really looking forward to when I eventually do watch them.

Why is Beta 13th seed? I thought at first that it was because they had a controversial win, but then Hydra had an even more controversial win and was still the #1 seed.

P1 vs. SMEEEEEE was way more fun than it had any business being. Also, P1 got snubbed and should have definitely made it.

Beta's two non-controversial wins were against terrible bots. Hydra beat 3 great bots including last year's runner-up.

Hopefully Will Bales flukes into an uncannily good performance with Hypershock.

Not a fan of Hypershock but hopefully everything aligns just right so they can slaughter Hydra.

It was the night of lopsided fights. Including the fight where Hypershock fizzled in the first 10 seconds.

As for Beta, that seed is probably higher than they deserve. I'm not sure how you could criticize Hydra's seed given the fight it put on at the start of this episode. Sure, they had that extra cheesy moment against Huge, but otherwise they've put on solid fights.

Meanwhile Beta was puttering about against anything that looked remotely dangerous. When they have to use that weapon or risk getting destroyed I fully expect they'll get destroyed.

I'm pretty sure Beta has the lowest seed out of all of the 3-0 bots, which is fitting given their easy schedule and shaky performances. But the teams have no control over who they face, so while strength of schedule does matter, it shouldn't absolutely destroy their seeding compared to other bots with the same record because it's out of their control. Anything lower than where they are now would seem unfair IMO.

P1 should have been the #32 seed, but oh well. I think it's recent fight has to be in my top 10, probably even top 5 of the season. Shoot, I'd go so far to say it might be the best match of the season. It was so fun.

Gotta feel bad for MadCatter and Skorpios right now, though. They really gotta feel like they'd rather be facing one of the mid-seed bots rather than Tombstone and Witch Doctor. Tbh, it's really feeling like Hydra's to lose though. Regardless, I personally like the WD crew. Gruff as a bot is pretty hot to me, but it probably won't go too far, still, love it. Mammoth is my meme fav. Of course, I can't help but root for Jackpot, but I kinda feel like it's luck has to run out eventually. Overall, I think I want WD to win most of all, it's a shame how their season went, but I do think with a working weapon, things can turnaround.

I will say, typically I'm not a fan of most hammer bots, but Beta is a cool one with it's hammer. Can't really say it has done much to really show what it's made of, though, but hopefully this will be just the opportunity for that. For being 3-0, there are still a lot of questions to be asked of it.

Yeah, Rusty was used as practice fodder for cutting tools... His cheap armor is bulky enough to keep him running, but his offense abilities are next to nil.
