I do wish there was a more clear indicator of what areas are off limits to you

Aside from that I love them

Is Paris the fashion show one? I think the first game sets up their assassination opportunities very differently from 2 and 3. Most of the time in 1, if you're following the mission story, it sets you up to get to an area with the target where you can use whatever way you choose to kill them. In 2 and 3 it does that as well but there's more often than not a cinematic or scripted way to kill them.

At least for the first few missions of the first game. Then they kinda give more linear paths to assassination.

If you had someone following you around you were either in a restricted area and didn't have a disguise that allowed you there or you performed an illegal action in front of someone.

Have fun. I suggest turning the opportunities display to minimal (or even off). More fun that way to find things yourself. Also if you plan on playing the second and third games I hope you are playing the Hitman 1 levels under the Hitman 2 engine, otherwise your progress won't transfer over to the next game.

The AI has bugged out a few times on me and became suspicious for accidentally brushing up against a random NPC. Like a tourist in Sapienza for example.

Actually not sure if that's a bug or not but it's weird for random NPCs to be suspicious just cuz I was being a rude asshole lol

Yeah I remember this happening in the first game, but it doesn't happen in 2.

Just to be clear Suspicious is when your cover is actually blown and they start following you or get help from a guard or cop.

If they just have a question mark over their head you're all good if you walk away from them. I think they can get suspicious if you keep bothering them. Not sure if that's what you're doing or not. I've never encountered random civilians being suspicious. The Private Eye in Sapienza automatically finds you suspicious if he sees you but you need to wake him up.

You can get away with a lot too. Sneaking around, climbing pipes, jumping out windows etc. isn't considered suspicious lol

Are you playing Hitman 2016, or Paris within 2/3? What I'd say is that they've really improved the UI with 2 and 3 to make things clearer for players, particularly when they're entering restricted areas. But also 2016 is probably the hardest of the three games.

I think it's useful to follow the opportunities/mission stories as you're getting used to a level, as they help to give you a sense of what disguises are allowed where, and how the targets' routines can be altered.

I mean it is pretty easy to tell off limits areas and if you accidentally wander into one, wander out fast and the npcs tend to not care.

Well they're easier to get into and easily the most polished of the series yes.

I do prefer the atmosphere of the older games and some story elements but prefer basically everything else. The Trilogy as a whole is the ultimate Hitman experience and basically what the franchise was building up to.

I think they're better, yes. Of the old ones I've only played Silent Assassin and Blood Money.
They pretty much feel like a much expanded and polished successor to Blood Money. My only complaint is that they're a bit too easy.

I was playing just a few days ago and the suspicious pop up came up from some rando dude (not the PI) in Sapienza so that's why I used that example. He followed me up until the morgue. It has happened a few times in the first game but I dont remember it happening in 2 and 3 like the other poster said.

But yeah, climbing pipes you're good. I've noticed crouching will set people off too in 1 so I stayed away from doing that in 2 and 3 and wouldn't know if they act the same there.

Yes; the idea was that the trilogy would just keep building upon itself, but IO split off from Square after the first game, which made everything a much more complicated process. Still, owners of 3 can now play pretty much the whole content of the trilogy.

Each game has roughly 6 "new" maps, but I'd say 2016's had the most content to them in terms of escalations and bonus missions, because of the episodic nature of that game and Square's backing. Still, 2 and 3 offer plenty to do on their own right.

Yes, but you either need to buy it as DLC for 2/3 (or you get it for free if you already own Hitman 1). Like I said earlier your progress won't transfer over if you aren't playing it under 2/3.
