How is the show?

First season is great, second starts getting a bit shaky towards the end, and then third jumps the shark so hard I had to give it up entirely.

I thought this was a BBC show/took place in london, especially with the whole train sequence at the beginning, but it seems like they're actually in the US? Which state?

Just wondering because if they're in the US why does the main sarah, her brother, and the foster home lady all speak various british dialects? Did she grow up in the US or UK? Bit confused bout that

The plot has its ups and downs but the characters (mostly played by Tatiana) totally carry the show. Worth a full watch.

From what I remember it's never really said. It's just a generic North American city. Where it takes place isn't important. It's filmed in Canada though.

The scene when Ainsley dies is 10/10. Ive never seen a character who deserved to die so much actually bite it!

Some of it was filmed in Toronto, and if I recall, at some point in the show you see the multi colored Canadian money used.

They already showed money from the beginning with the cash she tries to get out of the bank and it didn't really look quite like british pounds, but it wasn't US dollars either obviously. So it may have been Canadian money

Actually the anime you're thinking of might be Orphan is the New Darker than Black since all those shows came out at around the same time hence the naming confusion.

Which is ironic because now both this show and orphan is the new black are on netflix.

I remember the show being great, but the final episode falling flat.

It's a great show, but as it goes on it is definitely carried more and more by the strengths of Maslany's performance(s) and less by the plot, which goes a bit off the rails.

5 seasons does sound like a lot. I'm glad that it's ended though at least, I don't want to start another show that hasn't wrapped up yet.

It's a great show. Tatiana is amazing as others have said, and also there are some nude scenes which is always a plus in my book.

I definitely went into this topic thinking anime despite me seeing all seasons of the show and mostly enjoying it overall. I guess I was thinking Orphen like the other guy. But yes, as others have said, Tatiana is amazing. I can't imagine the amount of work that went into this show.

Unrelated, but Tatiana's likeness was used for Catwoman in Injustice 2.

I thought season 3 was better than 2, honestly, but season 4 is awful and left me with zero interest to watch the last one.
Tatiana Maslany is amazing, and the cast is really great in general, so it was a shame.

Great show. Just wanted to confirm that the show does take place in Canada. Its never stated but you can tell by the money they use.
Probably the most suspenseful show Ive gotten into. Every episode Im on the edge of my seat anticipating that something bad will happen to someone I like. Stellar performances by Tatiana.
