Mental illnesses are not just variations on a theme, and they're generally a negative thing. Most people would not WANT to have a mental, neurological, or developmental disorder. I can't imagine more than a very small number of doctors embrace neurodiversity (except to be polite infront of patients, especially children). --- It has been 0 days since something interesting happened. Crepes 02/21/21 8:31:14 AM #5:	A lot of it is societal. There are some things we consider normal today that were considered mental illnesses in the past. I mean being left handed used to be seen as an illness in the last for god sake. There may be things we consider weird today that are considered normal in the future. And things like ADHD arent necessarily bad on their own. Some of the greatest artists and inventors through history have been accused of having mental illnesses. But there are also a hell of a lot that... just make people slightly (for lack of a better word, and I don't mean this in a negative way) "weird". Those are hardly an issue in the bigger picture.
