I like 5 more than 4, but years on the internet has taught me that it's not okay to say that, apparently.

I disliked 5 so much its completely deterred me from trying 6 because some people actually like 5 but most say 6 sucks

6 is an absolutely brilliant action game with a fuck load of content. It's just a horrific Resident Evil game.

I'll never get folks who use that against 5 when 4 also took a more action-oriented direction. Literally spend half of the game in high-octane set pieces and doing karate kicks on groups of zombies-- er, I mean, Las Plagas.

5 is not better than 4 but it's a pretty decent sequel.

Things I didn't like about 5:

1. Having a partner
2. Gun-wielding enemies
3. Inventory system

i just beat RE4 again and picked up RE5 for cheap. it was the only one i didn't own some version of. i beat it twice back when it was new but did co-op both times.

did you play solo? if so just how bad is the AI? still planning to play it with a friend couch co-op but pretty sure it has online co-op as well.

RE 5 was a very fun and enjoyable game for SP, coop, and MP. The only thing I did not like was how they never repeated The Mercenaries past this game as it was a favorite of the fan base.

I completed 5 on professional which is the hardest setting without beating the game and had a fairly easy time. There might have been the odd moment when I thought ffs but generally only when grenades were involved.

RE5 is my favorite one. The sheer amount of dumb fun I had with that game is crazy. Co-op mercs in 5 has gotta be the best thing in any RE game.

It actually is in 6, it also has No Mercy mode and co-op for both of them. It plays a little differently too, more than 150 enemies to make your combo out of and counters more than stun -> melee.

Played solo on pc and encountered two known bugs. One where a boss was unkillable using the regular method the game wants you to use. So I wasted an hour running around like a fool trying to kill it and died. Then I just bought a rocket launcher and ohko'd it.

The next one was with an enemy who gets stuck on the sky box so you just see his shadow going around in a circle and you can't trigger the cutscene to continue.

I was already kinda meh on the game but this really soured my feelings on RE5.
