Just finishing off Leons campaign. Yeah I get the people who were disappointed it was a lot more action based but its still a great game.

Piers campaign was a bust since the revert christ back from being broody damaged veteren soldier to i'm fit to fight botw kind soldiers

It's a big, dumb 20-hour action movie that you also get to play. It's great.

Since Leon's is pretty much all zombies it's the best to play online because it's all easy counters and way fewer projectiles to worry about. Specifically co op, professional difficulty, no infinite ammo and agent hunt on.

I like Chris and Piers' for the mismatch of the story being more sombre while the gameplay is Chris power tripping with an infinite ammo nade launcher.

Jake and Sherry's levels are weaker than the other two imo but they're both really OP characters so the gameplay holds up.

That ustanak was pretty obnoxious tbh. Jake shouldve been more like his father than just be a carbon copy of himself. Not to mention shetry's inability to transform into grotesque creature because reasons despite having the healing capabilities pretty much damage his character and this franchise as a whole.

If the reason is it's too action oriented, that is true considering they said the same thing about 4 and 5.

I've seen bits of complaints about 4 and 5 leaving the zombie scene and becoming a 3rd person shooter but the "too much action" for RE6 went above and beyond. People also made a huge ass deal about the QTEs for some reason.

Even though he coulda been integrated into the gameplay better, I thought Ustanak was the most metal thing in the world. Stupidly durable, all those weapons and strategies, being playable in that one mode nobody's around to play.

I thought since Wesker outright died, they needed another character who wasn't going to stick around to play devils advocate, have reason to take his side and help give the character/history with Chris some closure. Woulda been fun if he was more over the top but I don't mind what they did since RE's gotta end in rocket launchers and optimism. Sherry having Krauser's special attack woulda been something though.

I actually believe I liked Chris' the most, because it really just leans into the absurd action that they so clearly want to have. Everyone says Leon's is the best but all it does is just make me want to play any other much better zombie game. At least Chris goes hard on the action military madness.

There were way to many QTEs, the game is like a shitty michael bay wannabe, and holy fucking hell is it bullet sponge bosses galore.RE 6 ditched the balance of action horror RE 4 and 5 clearly had for stupid over the top bullshit.

Whenever someone makes this kinda complaint about RE6 it usually just tells me it's baby's first game with QTEs. You'll never see these people complain about other games completely infected with QTEs.

You can set cutscene QTEs to autocomplete if you really hate them that much

The one brilliant thing Capcom accomplished...ANNNNNND it's gone.

Maybe Village will do something on par with him but I doubt it. He's kind of a lost cause now because he's been reinserted into plots so many times in RE.

Characters redesigns is not something new to Capcom. Just look at Ryu, Megaman and Dante.

Well in RE5 he questioned himself if what he's fighting for is worth it when he lost Jill. In RE6 he lost more of his soldiers and then was gonna give leadership to Piers but you know what happened. I'd say he went through some shit.

it was fun for what it is. i didn't care much for chris campaign since it was so different. the others felt more like RE4/5. i played solo and was still fun. i'm sure it would be even more fun co-op like RE5 was. just bought that again on sale but never played it solo.

i just finished RE4 again last night and that first hour sucks trying to get used to the controls but once you get past that it's still a lot of fun to play. i beat assignment ada and just started mercenaries and separate ways.

i just mean trying to get used to the controls. hard going from modern controls back to RE4 controls even with the "modern" setup that just set shooting to the triggers but no strafe or moving while shooting and everything is awkward compared to how fluid things are now. but once you're used to it the game is still amazing.
