I think I'm pretty on top of gaming but then I browse storefronts and am like hmm that looks good, oh I've heard that one is cool, hey that one might be fun, about a bunch of stuff I'll probably never end up playing. Then most of the time I just play stuff that I know is going to be exactly like a dozen other games I've played from the same genre but it is what it is

Edit: Yes I know this also applies to music, movies, tv, books, etc.

A lot of games are out I still want to play and haven't bought yet. I tend to finish the current game I'm on before I think about buying another and often just pick up most games in sales/price drops as they are not worth full price. I admit I'm not short of games to play though.

Eh, it's just random indie games, storefronts like Xbox used to sort them into their own category during the 360 days but now they have it all together so you can't really tell at a quick glance.

It's great theres so many games espicially since most AAA studios are morally and creatively bankrupt but it's overwhelming.

There are just some games that might be good but youll never play yourself

It's not that there are too many video games. It's that there is too little time to play them all! It's cup half-full type of thing.

Have not really been motivated to play video games at all recently. Feel like I have grown out of them.

Pretty much. This is very likely the best time in history (so far) for entertainment. Not only is there more stuff than ever before, but it's also more accessible than ever.

It's also kinda funny that even with everything available, I often find myself not watching, reading, or playing anything some days.

Not all can walk the pathway to life, neither can all play all video games. We can only walk one way, experience one masterpiece. That's how I counsel myself although I wish to play a lot of games. At least I can enjoy the ones I want to remember than have then pile up, in a reflective scenario.

Good ol' decision paralysis. Sometimes, having lots of options just results in choosing none of them.

And then there's the problem of my backlog growing ever larger, but me continuing to periodically go back to games I've already played to put another couple hundred hours into them.
