My commute is 40 miles each way, all freeway- 80 miles total daily on weekdays.
The goal is to get something I only have to fill up maximum once a week. I've done some research and I found a 2000 Honda Insight in my area for sale with barely under 100k miles on it and it looks like it's in awesome shape. It's ~$5.9k. These are supposed to get like 50-60 mpg and it seems like it would suit my needs perfectly. 500-600 miles per tank? Looks like a fuckin starship's escape pod? Sign me up. I really don't want to be spending any more than that but various people keep telling me that a first gen Insight is a really stupid buy for reasons that mostly don't bother me <_< (those reasons being tiny size, road noise, overpriced, possible future maintenance costs) What else even has comparable fuel economy? Everything I see even nearing that level of efficiency is like double the price or more for something with way more miles on it. Please CE, grant me your counsel. I come to you in my hour of need. Are there any other cars on the market that are: Under like $6k 45 mpg I just really don't want to be putting so much wear and tear on my '96 Ranger's engine if I don't have to, and filling up twice a week or more is gonna drive me insane. Thanks in advance for the help, love y'all<3 --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Dem batteries are expensive to replace. I gotta wonder if da money saved at da pump is enough to make up for it.
