I went camping a few times when I was in the Boy Scouts, growing up.

and I've spent a whole month in the field before, sleeping on a cot in a tent. As well as other, shorter field problems

but camping isn't really something that I can say I'd do just for fun <_< I'm not a big outdoors activity person

Yes, twice, hated both times. Camping isn't for me. Both times were hot, humid, full of bugs. I have a deep phobia of the woods (think thalassophobia but trees) and the prospect of every sound outside being a bear was not for me.

well you definitely couldn't have grown up where I grew up lol literally grew up in the middle of nowhere in the woods lol <_<

No, so did I lol. It's the cause. I grew up in the pine barrens with like enough neighbors to count on one hand for five miles.

My geology class went on a field trip to the Ozark Mountains in Missouri. We saw many interesting rocks. We cooked bratwurst sausages. Even though we had 2 professors and 2 teaching assistants, all of them forgot to bring a lighter, so we had to start a fire by kindling sticks. The next day, I persuaded them to buy a lighter at a gas station, so it wouldn't take an hour to start a fire for cooking

If I was interested in becoming a geologist, then I would definitely do it again for the rocks, but camping is not an end in itself

Yeah all the time in the boy scouts and I loved it. Now I try to get out once or twice a year with my buds.

Made a mistake in poll. Basically went "camping" once when I was little kid in a public kids Space camp called Astro Camp. Not sure if I should consider that tehehe.

But never been camping with my friends/family in my life.

Literally hundreds of times. One of my favorite things.

I dont want to sleep in dirt where the crawlies are.

No tent floors doesn't count. It's too thin and any creep can crawl trough if they want too.

I've gotten drunk as hell out by my backyard fire pit, and woken up out there the next day. Does that count?

I've done it far too many times to count. Alaska is my most memorable.
