Never understood why they did this anyway. Restaurant is empty so they really have to seat my group right next to some noisy family?

They did it to maximize profit.

Lets not let them get away with going back to airline seating arrangements by demanding this in the future forever. :)

I dont get how they maximize when the restaurant is empty. In busy times sure, but they would do it even when the restaurant was empty.

idk man ive never been seated that way, if it happened pre covid in a relatively empty restaurant id demand better seating for my party or were bouncing lmao
