I've got a month and a half to go, should be plenty advance notice to plan around.

You most certainly shouldn't be "shopping around" for a specific vaccine. Accept whatever one you're offered.

I'll take the one with the highest effective rate, and wait until it's available.
Aside from grocery store visits, I'm pretty much isolated so I don't care if it means waiting longer.

People delaying their vaccinations to get the 'best' one are only adding time to how long it takes to get it under control. Only a step above those who refuse vaccinations entirely.

Not what he said at all. That's all stuff you decided he meant, but what he said was it's only a step above people who refuse to get the vaccination. Those other things you listed may be better or worse according to Clench, but we don't know because that's not what he said.

i had to go through my counties health department, so start there, they'll likely have information of where you can get it if they don't do it themselves

Actually, it does. Vaccination plus low contact between individuals will, together, decrease the population size of infected (and susceptible) individuals.

Increasing social contact at the same time of increasing immunity will provide opportunity for novel variants to mutate (within infected individuals) and selective pressure for mutations that escape vaccine (or acquired) immunity.

The best way to prevent this is to decrease the overall number of cases and reduce contact between people, because mutation is a numbers game.

Increasing immunity only to immediately increase contact, without waiting for a significant dip in cases, is just poor decision making.

It should be noted articles are quoting him as saying we will have enough supply by the end of May for every adult but that because of logistics/distribution it might take longer to administer.

There will definitely be people misquoting to make it seem like a failure if they don't understand that context.

I could be reading this wrong, but it sound like Veedrock- is saying that they dont care about the rates of the vaccine if it doesnt also end the lockdown... Which makes sense. People want to see their friends and family again. And be able to live their lives without having to hide inside constantly...

Tbh it doesn't seem that simple. Some have higher rates of effectiveness, but others were tested later with more strains so that could have brought rates down. And for example I believe J&J is lower rate (possibly because of the reason previously described) but shown more effective against South African variant.

They all greatly reduce severity even if you get COVID.

I'll get whichever one I can as soon as I can.

the others are working on booster shots for more strains. And the strains are showing up everywhere. My takeaway is that any are fine and supply is short so take what you can get.

Like I said, citation needed, because even before Biden was elected it was understood that the first round of checks this year he would be supporting $1400 checks due to the previous ones being $600 and democrats wanted $2000. That is why its $1400 in this bill.
