Dude it is literally 90% pork.

The bill to write is 2K per month , no strings attached, no pork, totally bipartisan.

Learn to read. He is saying a clean bill with nothing attached would be totally bipartisan.

$2k checks were already put on the table before the Biden presidency. No pork.

Republicans were still a no.

I'm not sure you are even allowed to put a bill on the floor that is literally blank.

We're in a pandemic. Oh my god. Just give people money in a pandemic that need it. Give it to them if they don't need it. Who actually cares? Just help people. It doesn't matter. It's so simple

Like fuck the national debt. It's a joke. The government can just print whatever money they can. Who cares. Just give people money during a pandemic. I don't know how anyone needs to think about it for more than one second.

And then you wonder why rent, tuition, food, medical expenses are totally insane, and the military needs trillions.

Money printing and debt dependence is the cause of all that. You can't just ignore all the negative effects and then call it simple. Well you can, but then you are literally the problem. You're the reason the country keeps voting the same way and going down the same obviously disastrous path.

You wonder why 100 years of just giving people money hasn't made things better. You wonder why the "richest country in the world" with $1 trillion in the hole can't provide real benefits to its citizens like Sweden with its government surplus. Clearly we just need exponentially MORE money printing. Simple = absolutely stupid and destructive here. If you actually care about helping people then spend more than 1 dumbass second thinking about it. And no, 5 seconds isn't enough.

I wonder if people like foolmo realize the US isn't actually in debt in the sense of the word as individuals know it. It's like we have an unlimited credit card and we are making payments in a way that both sides agreed to and are very comfortable with and literally no one in the world has problems with the U.S. borrowing things because our resources are not in question anywhere in the world.

We are perfectly capable of giving our citizens everything and investing (key word) in our country's future health, but we choose to not understand how money works in a global sense.

Mind you there are plenty of places where we can reasonably cut the budget holes that don't harm people in the way that complaining about the debt only when democrats are in office does. For example I'd be taxing people a lot more than what is currently there!

I am not a huge fan of the status quo, but I will take busting the status quo more seriously when we reduce our military budget rather than balking at helping people out of poverty. It's a conversation I am willing to have but it always seems to only happen at large when people are suffering.

I talk about this all the time and am ignored for exactly the same reason every time. "Oh you only care because democrats are in office". 8 years later "oh you only care because you have TDS". And after 4 years of that, we're back to "oh you only care because democrats are in office".

You could go your entire life dismissing the conversation, like the last 2 generations did.

If having the president, house, and senate on your side isn't a good enough time, when is? Republicans made it clear the time is never. What about the Democrats?

Well first off I personally do not have the president, the house, and the senate on my side because I do not align with most of these people most of the time.

Also in fairness I am not very specifically talking about you, but rather the people in power who say things similar to you and then giver massive tax cuts to people who don't need it. I am sure you have been consistent, so it sucks for you just as much as it sucks for me. I think you and I being the only voices in a room for a year could probably come up with an agreeable fix.

But.

(horrible word I know)

we have to deal with idiots instead so <_<

Correlation is far from causation here

It's a lot more costly for us to lose our global financial posture than it is to spend $1.5 tril on the military each year. Or in other words, the money we spend on military is correlated with the amount of deficit and debt we can incur without losing strength in our fiat system. This is also why when you invest in social security, you're investing in US imperialism.
